[Genetics] VL: CSC broadcasts phylogenetics course to the web

Olisikohan suuremmallakin ihmismäärällä tarvetta seurata CSC:n
fylogeniakurssia (ks. alla)? Siinä tapauksessa olisi ehkä mahdollista
kysellä tarkoitukseen videotykillä ja äänentoistolaitteilla varustettua
salia yhteisseurantaan.

Fylogenialuentoja voi seurata omalla koneella.

Ensiviikolla (16.3.-19.3.) pidettävän Computational phylogenetics kurssin
luennot videoidaan ja niitä on mahdollista seurata suorana lähetyksenä
verkossa. Luentojen seuraaminen onnistuu jos koneessasi on RealPlayer-
ohjelmisto.

Voit testata lähetyksen toiminnan menemällä kurssisivulle:

ja painamalla siellä  "Watch the seminar live" -nappia.
Tällä hetkellä sivulta käynnitsyy nauhoitettu testilähetys ja luentojen
aikana varsinainen lähetys. Luennot myös nauhoitetaan ja ne ovat myöhemmin
katsottavissa CSC:n mediapalvelimella.

Luennot lähetetään myös korkearesoluutioisena multicast-lähetyksenä.
Mikäli haluat käyttää multicast-lähetystä esimerkiksi etäluentosalin
järjestämiseen, ota yhteyttä niin lähetämme tarkemmat tiedot multicast
lähetyksen teknisistä yksityiskohdista.

Phlylogenetics lectures in the web

We are "webcasting" the lectures of the EMBnet phylogenetics course
we are having next week (18.-19.3.). To follow the lectures, you need
just a RealPlayer in your machine. We have already a test video stream
running in the course page, which  you can use to check that your
RealPlayer works.

We are sending the lectures using multicast technique too. Multicast has
better image quality and so it is a better choice, if you wish to set up a
remote lecture room. If you wish to use the multicast option, please
contact me for more information.

The lectures will be recorded too and they will be available in our media
server later on.
