Jukka Corander from Helsinki could give a short two-day course in the use
of his BAPS program (Bayesian Analysis of Population Structure). As the
name of the program says, this program uses genotypic data and classifies
samples into genetically homogeneous groups (Hardy-Weinberg groups). It
tells how many such groups are found in the data and also calculates
estimates of differentiation (FST) among the constructed groups. See below
for Jukka's comments concerning the latest release of the program.

The only time suitable for Jukka is Monday and Tuesday, May 16-17. If you
are interested in participating, let me know (hopefully this week), so I
can inform Jukka.

The release of BAPS 3.1 upgrades the software and the main improvements
compared with the earlier version 3.0 are:

1. Better usability, several estimation runs can now be processed
simultaneously, by providing a vector input to field where the maximum
number of clusters is specified.
2. Algorithm improvement, several new search steps have been added.
3. Possibility to use training data for specifying the prior for allele
frequencies.
4. Program output has been enhanced.
