[Genetics] Course on comparative genomics at ENS Lyon

Dear all,
We would like to announce that the registration to the European course on comparative genomics at ENS Lyon (France) from January 12 to 23th, 2009 is now open.
Our course is a two weeks-long series of lectures and round tables on topics such as
- Gene and genome duplication
- The evolution of non-coding DNA
- Evolutionary genomics of the origin of humans
- Sex chromosomes and sex determination
- Phylogenomics
- Bacterial genomics and the origin of life
- Genomics of speciation
- Transposable elements and the evolution of new genes
- The origin of genome architecture
- The future of genomics.
Speakers include:
M Lynch, K Wolfe, D Charlesworth, L Duret, N Galtier, M Gouy, M Schartl, E Douzery, E Rocha, JN Volff, H Kaessmann, E Green, L Quintana Murci, A Huttenhofer, M Robinson-Rechavi, A Widmer, W Salzburger, B Jordan.
We will accept 35 students.
Registration is free but required. The students will have to make their own arrangements for accomodation, meals and travel.
Registration will be closed on December 17 and results will be released on December 19.
