Tässä lisää ulkomaankielistä tarinointia tämän talven tilhivaelluksesta...
Missäköhän asti tilhemme nyt lienevätkään?

Dear all,

During the last two weeks I have received an information from some members
of our society and nature lovers about records of Bohemian Waxwing
(Bombycilla garrulus) in Georgia. First two small flocks, around 20-25 birds
each, were recorded on 29 January in Rokiti village, Imereti region, Western
Georgia. About a week later, Waxwings were observed Eastern Georgia - in
Mtskheta town and at outskirts of Tbilisi City:
- flock of 120-150 individuals was watched in garden in Mtskheta on 4
February;
- up to 100 birds were in flock near southern bank of Tbilisi reservoir on 6
February;
- two flocks, at least ca.100 birds, were watched on 7 February in Dighomi
village, environs of Tbilisi;
- small flock was recorded in garden in Vake district of Tbilisi on 7
February;
- the biggest flock, consisting of 150-200 birds, was watched on 11 February
in vineyard near Abisi village, Prone River valley, Agara district.
By the way, this winter (last days of January and first two weeks of
February) in Georgia is very cold and snowy. During the 2nd half of 20th
Century eruptions of Waxwing in Georgia were documented in 1966, 1976, 1982,
1999 (Zhordania, 1969, Kutubidze, 1985, archives of BCSG).

It would be very interesting for me to know, maybe Waxwing has been noticed
this winter in neighbouring countries and regions - in Northern Caucasus of
Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, NE Turkey, Northern Iran.

I would be thankful for any information.

With best wishes
