Expenses paid field assistant positions to study avian diversity in <br>
Swedish Lapland<br>
<br>
For the upcoming field season (1 June-125 July 2017), we are looking for <br>
a highly motivated expenses paid field volunteer to join our field <br>
project (main responsible Dr. Michael Griesser, University of Zurich, <br>
Switzerland) investigating bird diversity in boreal forests. The study <br>
site is located near Arvidsjaur, Swedish Lapland.<br>
<br>
Our current project investigates the influence of habitat quality on the <br>
breeding success of different bird species. The work of the field <br>
volunteers will be to help with bird census work, habitat census work, <br>
and data management in managed and pristine boreal habitats. The work <br>
can be physically strenuous at times.<br>
<br>
Qualifications:<br>
<br>
(1) BSc/MSc in Biology, Ecology, Evolution or similar qualification<br>
(2) Ability to recognize the common birds of Lapland by ear and sight<br>
(3) Previous experience of bird census work<br>
(4) Ability to work in small teams and sociable personality<br>
(5) Driving licence<br>
(6) Fluent in English<br>

We will cover for the accommodation, travel expenses from and to the <br>
study site (in total up to 300 Euros), as well as the living expenses.<br>
<br>
