I was asked a question about the autumn meeting and I thought I'd share the info.
Hi,Is there anything we, non board/core soopa members, can do during the meeting (in club 40)? Or is it just for board members?
Yes, there is.
SOOPA normally has two meetings in a year where every single SOOPA member is not only allowed, but also supposed to participate if they have anything to say about how things are done - one is the autumn meeting where the main point is planning the year by choosing the board for the next year and planning the next year's activity and budget (the other one being the spring meeting where we check if everything was done close enough to the plan). The last two usually are pre-made by the current board, so as to speed up the actual meeting, but they usually get at least some tweakings, and quite possibly major modifications too before they are accepted (which happens in the meeting). So, yes, I repeat, this is the time and place you're supposed to say whatever you want to about the way things are done, officially. Of course you don't have to say anything and it can also be somthing as little as "Could we have a picnic next year?" :p
