Hi,

Note that only 15 first people who have signed up have a place in a car,

(if you don't have place in car and you still want to participate you have to take the bus,

and note that the bus departure times suck and the bus starts from city centre, we will leave with cars before the bus during sunday

(check from google maps if you take the bus, note that the ferry has own timetable too, check from google).)

We will be leaving from university parking lot (the one next to bus stop near the construction area and Yliopistonkatu, so it's near T2 door in the map) on Saturday 21th of October at 15:45 am.

Also note that to participate on the trip you need a warm sleeping bag AND a proper sleeping mattress, as you know it's already quite cold.

Also note that we need lots of cooking stoves, so bring your own, and also fuel for the cooking stove. We are about 15 people cooking in a small hut with a small stove, so it's already crowded. Hope it's not too cold outside so we can use the grilling place.

Everyone takes warm winter clothing.

Everyone also takes 1,5 liter of water with them.

Thanks to Amr, we now have 3 cars so at the moment everyone can join without public transport.

Hi,

At the moment we have 2 cars, so 10 first people who have signed up are able to join.

I recommend everyone to ask for their parents (finnish folks) car or friends car to rent for the weekend.

If we don't get a third car, some of you will have to use bus transport if you still want to participate.

Then you would have to take the bus number 59 from "Rautasaari P" 13:55 or 17:25 (am) during saturday. The returning bus at sunday leaves 19:55 (am) from Vaski E (check the times from Google maps).

So you see that the returning time of the bus kind of sucks, we leave with the cars earlier during sunday, so you would have to spend time on your own during sunday evening.

I will send some final info during friday, hope we get the third car.

Hailuodon saari sijaitsee Perämerellä Oulun edustalla.

Mennään Hailuodossa autolla Vasken taukotuvan ympäristöön, joka sijaitsee n. 4 km päässä lauttapaikasta.

Lähtö:
Lähtö tapahtuu yliopiston isolta parkkikselta (Yliopistonkadun puoliselta, lähellä rakennustyömaan viereistä bussipysäkkiä eli T2 oven läheisyydessä),
lauantaina 21.10. kello 15:45.

Kuljetus järjestetään lähtijöiden omilla autoilla. Toivottavasti kaikille ja kaikelle on tilaa. Olisi kiva, jos sinulla on auto saatavilla ja voisit kyydittää porukkaa, sillä autoja on tuskin hirveästi liikaa. Bensakulut saa takaisin Soopalta.

Autopaikat menee lähtökohtaisesti ensimmäisenä Doodleen ilmoittautuneille.

Kotiinpaluu:
Lähdetään sunnuntaina siihen aikaan, mikä tuntuu sydämmissämme oikealta lautta-aikojen puitteissa. Eli päätetään silloin, milloin.

Mitä retkellä voi tehdä?

Hailuodon hienosta ympäristöstä nauttiminen, grillaaminen, mahdollisuus kevyeen patikointiin, lautapelit, valokuvaus (omilla kuvausvälineillä), lättyjen paistoa, lauleskelua nuotiolla mikäli kitaralla säestäjä ja lauluintoa löytyy.

Sunnuntaina on myös suunnitelmissa käydä Marjaniemessä eli saaren toisella puolella komealla hiekkaranta-alueella.

Retki on alkoholiton.

Nukkuminen:
Nukutaan Soopan teltoissa taukotuvan ympäristössä. Mikäli jokin autoporukka ei halua jäädä yöksi, on mahdollista palata ko. autoporukalla sopivalla lautalla takaisin Ouluun.

Syöminen:
Tuo omat ruokasi. Taukotuvan pihalla on nuotiopaikka, ota ihmeessä myös trangia tai jokin muu retkikeitin mukaan jos sellaisen omistat. Sateen sattuessa voi sitten kokkailla sisällä.

Mukaan:
- Tavarankuljetusväline, esim. rinkka
- Makuupussi, yölämpötila pyörii tämän hetken ennusteen mukaan arviolta välillä -4 <-> +5 astetta celsiusta, esim. sopiva kolmenvuodenajan pussi toimii.
- Makuualusta
- Kunnon ulkovaatteet, sisältäen lämpimän taukotakin+muut lämpimät taukovaatteet
- Hyvät lämpimät kengät
- Sadevaatteet
- Lamppu taskuun tai otsaan
- Ruokailuvälineet
- retkikeitin jos omistat sellaisen + polttoaine siihen
- varalta wc-paperirulla
- korvatulpat hyvä olla myös varalle
- Kaikkea muuta mitä unohdin kertoa. Ota huomioon, että autoihin mahtuu rajallinen määrä kampetta.

What?!

Trip to Hailuoto, overnight in Soopas tents in 21.10 - 22.10.2017. Grilling, enjoying nature of Hailuoto, possibility for light trekking, board games, photography etc.

Where:

Hailuoto is an island and a municipality in Northern Ostrobothnia region quite near to Oulu.

We will go to Vaski hut environment in Hailuoto, see map below if you want to check it.

Getting there:

We will be leaving from university parking lot (the one next to bus stop near the construction area and Yliopistonkatu, so it's near T2 door in the map) on Saturday 21th of October at 15:45 am.

We will use our members cars to get there, hopefully there is room for everyone. If you use your own car and give ride to others as well, Soopa will pay for the fuel costs. First ones to register themselves on Doodle are the ones to get a ride. Info about these things later.

Leaving there:

On Sunday at some time we will take a ferry back to Oulu.

If there is a car group who want to leave during the same night during saturday, it's a possibility to not stay overnight. Anyways be prepared to stay overnight.

Activities you can do:

-Grilling

-possibility for light trekking

-possibility for photography (with your own equipment)

-if we have a guitarist and people want to sing, singing around the fireplace

-making waffles (or pancakes whatever you call them)

-board games etc. what comes in mind

Sunday we plan to also visit Marjaniemi, it's a nice sand beach area on the other side of the island.

The event is alcohol free.

Sleeping:

In Soopas tents.

Food:

Bring your own food. There is a spot for grilling outside. Also take a cooking stove + fuel for it if you own one. If it's raining we can cook inside with the cooking stoves.

Things you need:

- Backpack, rucksack or something to put your stuff into.
- Sleeping bag (warmer is better, night temperature outside varies probably around -5 <-> +5 degrees Celsius)
- Sleeping mattress
- Good warm clothes including a winter jacket
- good warm shoes
- rain clothing
- Food and fork and plate and stuff.
- Flashlight/headlamp is a very bright idea
- cooking stove + fuel for cooking stove
- a roll of toilet paper
- ear plugs, just in case
- Anything else you might think is necessary for overnight trip in the woods

Please do mind that cars tend to run out of space, so don't bring everything you own with you.
