Tervetuloa mukaan SOOPA:n vuosittaiseen syysvaellukseen, joka tänä vuonna
suuntaa Varangin niemimaalle kiertäen samalla Muotkatunturin, Paistunturin
ja Rastigaisan kautta. Bussi lähtee Oulusta aamulla 4.9. ja paluu Ouluun
tapahtuu 11.9. iltana. Varangin niemimaa sopii kokeneemmille vaeltajille,
kun taas vähemmän kokemusta omaavat ryhmät (tai muuten vaan Suomen puolelle
haluavat) voivat jäädä Suomen erämaa-alueille. Myöhäinen ajankohta voi olla
sopiva ruskan kannalta, mutta pohjoisimmissa kohteissa kannattaa varautua
myös lumen saapumiseen. Vaihtoehtoja on kuitenkin monia, joten jokaiselle
löytyy mielenkiintoinen kohde! Mikäli Norjaan ei sillä hetkellä päästä,
kaikki ryhmät vaeltavat Suomessa.

Jaamme porukan 4–6 hengen ryhmiin mieltymysten ja kuntotason mukaan
ilmoittautumislomakkeen perusteella. Varmistamme kuitenkin, että jokaisessa
ryhmässä on riittävästi kokemusta vaelluksen onnistumiseen. Majoittuminen
tapahtuu teltoissa. Tuvissa yöpyminen on myös mahdollista, mikäli sellaisia
reitille osuu.

Vaelluksen hintana on 110 euroa mikä sisältää bussikuljetukset, kartat sekä
loppuruokailun ja –saunan vaelluksen päätteeksi. Tarvittaessa SOOPAlta
pystyy lainaamaan tai vuokraamaan varusteita, kuten telttoja (ks.
http://www.soopa.fi/ohjeet/varustevuokraus/). Soopan tapahtumat ovat
päihteettömiä.

Joten jos kaunis ruskan värjäämä erämaa sekä uskomaton kokemus mahtavassa
seurassa kiinnostavat, ilmoittaudu mukaan – nopeimmat 48 ilmoittautujaa
lunastavat paikat!

Seuraamme tarkasti koronarajoituksia ja -tilannetta. Tällä hetkellä Norjaan
pääsee vain tietyissä maakunnissa asuvat henkilöt. Mikäli sama tilanne on
syksyllä ja ryhmästä kaikki eivät saa ylittää rajaa, jää ryhmä Suomen
puolelle. Jos rajoitukset tiukkenevat, voimme joutua perumaan vaelluksen
kokonaan tai siirtämään matkustamisen henkilöautoihin. Bussissa toivomme
kaikkien pitävän maskeja ja turvavälejä mahdollisuuksien mukaan sekä
huolehtimaan hyvästä käsihygieniasta. Otamme mukaan vain oireettomat
vaeltajat. Mikäli joudut perumaan matkan sairastumisen tai koronaoireiden
takia, Soopa palauttaa osallistumismaksun ja jäsenmaksun pyydettäessä. Myös
mikäli osallistujamäärä on alle 30, koko vaellus perutaan ja Soopa
palauttaa osallistujille kyseiset maksut.

Welcome to SOOPA’s annual autumn hike 2021! This year we will be heading to
Norway and our prime destination is Varanger Peninsula National Park. You
can also get off the bus earlier and hike either in Rastigaisa (Norway),
Muotkatunturi (Finland) or Paistunturi (Finland) if you wish. The bus from
Oulu leaves on Saturday morning, September 4th, and returns to Oulu on
Saturday evening, September 11th. Varanger Peninsula is suited better for
more experienced hikers whereas the Finnish wilderness destinations suit
the ones with less experience or with a desire to stay in Finland without
crossing the border. The late date of the hike might be ideal for ruska
(the autumn colours) but you should also be prepared for the first snowfall
in the most northern destinations. As there are many options, everyone
should be able to find an interesting destination for herself/himself!
However, if getting to Norway is not possible at the time of the hike due
to Covid, all groups will stay and hike in Finland.

The hikers are divided into smaller groups of 4–6 persons according to
their personal preferences and fitness level (asked in the sign-up form).
We will make sure that every group has sufficient skills to have a
successful hike. We will be sleeping in tents. However, sleeping in the
open wilderness hut is also possible if there are any on the route.

The price of the hike is 110 euros which includes the bus transportation,
maps and sauna and dinner on the return trip. SOOPA lends and hires tents

alcohol free. Sign-up for an unforgettable experience in the wilderness
dressed in beautiful autumn colours and accompanied with great company –
the first 48 registrants will be guaranteed a seat!

We are carefully following the situation with covid restrictions and
recommendations. At the current moment the Norwegian border can be crossed
by people living in certain counties. If the situation remains unchanged in
September and some members of their group are not allowed to cross the
border, the whole group will stay inside the Finnish borders. If the
restrictions tighten, we might have to cancel the hike or organise the
transportation by passenger cars. We hope that all passengers wear a mask
on the bus, keep safe distance from others and look after their personal
hand hygiene.

Only hikers without symptoms can participate. In case you have to cancel
the trip due to sickness or covid symptoms, you can reclaim a refund for
the participation and membership fees. Also, if the number of participants
is less than 30, the whole hike will be cancelled and Soopa will refund all
the fees.
