<b>FINANCING AND PROJECT VALUATION OF MINING PROJECT <br><br>

<b>Aims</b>: After completion of the course the student should be able to
understand how to finance a mining project. What are requirements of
venture capital financing and other type of financing? What are the
sources of mining financing and how to seek financing? What are the
sources of financing? The student understands the importance of cash
flow, NPV and IRR calculations. The student will even understand what
kind of parameters impacts the value of a mining project. The aim of the
course is to provide a guide to understanding the main factors involved
in financing of mining projects through equity and debt. The student will
be able to prepare a simple valuation model of exploration properties and
companies. <br><br>
<b>Contents</b>: Different tools for analyzing financial information,
problems in analyzing financial information, and the use of financial and
mineral resource information in project valuation. <br><br>
<b>Previous knowledge</b>: Course “Mining project – feasibility study”.
The course is intended especially for the students of Oulu Mining School
and the Nordic Mining School. <br><br>
<b>Course literature</b>: A literature list will be delivered later.
<br><br>
<b>Working methods</b>: 15 h of lectures and 3 × 3 h exercises. <br><br>
<b>Assessment methods:</b> Exercises and examination. <br><br>
<b>Grading</b>: 1–5 <br><br>
