Northern Environmental Technology (NorTech Oulu) is offering a
scholarship starting from 1.9.2011, to perform a doctoral
research in the subject of <b>Biorefinery and sustainable waste
management solutions for tourist centres in Northern
peripheral areas.</b> The research is to be performed as part
of a<b> </b>project financed by the Maj and Tor Nessling

The successful applicant holds a Master of Science degree in
engineering or other background sufficient for engineering
studies, and is currently pursuing or planning to pursue
post-graduate studies for the degree of Doctor of Science (in
Technology). An excellent command of written and spoken English is
a prerequisite to perform the research work, and good
communication skills in Finnish are also indispensable.<br>

<span style="mso-ansi-language:EN-US" lang="EN-US">The grantee
will receive the Nessling foundation’s personal scholarship (~20
000 €/year). In addition to this, </span><span
style="mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri;mso-ansi-language:EN-GB"
lang="EN-GB">the grantee can apply for an additional grant
(about 160 €) that covers personal insurance. The current
scholarship is available until 31.12.2011, however, it is
possible to be extended until 31.8.2013.<br>
