OYY wants to remind everybody that all kinds of inappropriate, discriminatory and offensive talk do not belong either to the university, the student union or other work communities.</span></p>

<span style="font-size:15px;font-family:Arial;color:rgb(0,0,0);background-color:transparent;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline">According to a Finnish student barometer 1 % of students at higher education institutions say that they have confronted discrimination, harassment and bullying often and 8 % of them occasionally. Bullying occurs even at higher education institutions even though these are communities for adults.</span></p>

<span style="font-size:15px;font-family:Arial;color:rgb(0,0,0);background-color:transparent;font-weight:normal;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;text-decoration:none;vertical-align:baseline">Disrespectful messages and inappropriate e-mails are a form of bullying and harassment. Good manners should be borne in mind even in social media, where the same codes of conduct apply as in face-to-face communication.</span></p>
