Communities!
Jokkmokk, Norrbotten, Sweden, 2 February - 4 February 2015

Jokkmokk Winter Conference on Climate Change, Energy and Sustainable
Development is an annual international forum for students, decision
makers, entrepreneurs and opinion builders from Northern Europe, North
America and Russia. The conference offers a natural meeting point for
those working with climate change and an opportunity for developing new
strategies and initiatives for the North. The Saami perspective and
reindeer herding is an important pillar for the conference. The
recommendations and demands raised in the conference are handed over and
discussed with governmental representatives from EU, Sweden, Norway,
Finland, Russia, Canada and the US.

The University of Oulu, through Thule Institute and the Faculty of
Technology, is organizing a trip to the conference including
transportation and guaranteed participation for up to 7 students
(note that the conference has no registration fee but, on the other hand,
has limited number of available places).
