Grids courses on smart buildings and smart customers this spring. <span style="color:#002060">

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">The course <strong><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">488502S Smart Grids 2: Smart Buildings and Smart Customers in the Smart Grid</span></strong> is an advanced course for MSc or PhD students in environmental
engineering, economics or electrical engineering, and will be implemented as face-to-face teaching during 13.3.-6.4. including visiting lectures and student presentations.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">The course largely relies on participatory learning, therefore, there are compulsory participation requirements. The course will be evaluated based on answering problem questions, completing individual and group exercises,
presentations and reporting. During the course, the key technologies of smart houses such as smart house automation, smart metering, smart appliances and energy storage will be explained and demonstrated, including existing commercial technologies and service
models.<span style="color:#002060"><o:p></o:p></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="color:#002060"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">In addition, the new role of consumers as prosumers and service users will be explained and demonstrated. The risks of smart houses in terms of cyber security, data privacy and management will also be presented. Finally,
the future perspectives of smart houses in the smart city framework will be outlined.<span style="color:#002060"><o:p></o:p></span></span></p>
