<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">The purpose of the trip is to introduce students to different aspects of the nuclear energy production life cycle in Finland by visiting two of the most representative sites: Pyhäjoki and Olkiluoto.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

</span></span></span><![endif]><span lang="EN-US">Pyhäjoki, located approximately 100 km south of Oulu, is the designated site of the Hanhikivi 1 power plant where extensive construction work for infrastructure and auxiliary buildings is currently under way.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

</span></span></span><![endif]><span lang="EN-US">Olkiluoto, in Eurajoki, is the location of one of the two currently operating nuclear power stations in Finland, including two operating reactors and a third under construction; furthermore, it is the location
for the Onkalo spent nuclear fuel repository currently under construction.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">The trip is accessible to all master's students and PhD candidates of the Faculty of Technology. The trip is limited to 40 students. Students who have completed the
<a href="http://www.oulu.fi/energy/node/41322">488504S Fundamentals of Nuclear Energy</a> course will be given priority.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
