Vor allem labte er sich dabei aber an dem Sprachgut, das im fruchtbaren Garten der Phantasie eines Schreiberlings reichlich gesät worden und auf den Buchseiten natürlich zu herrlich blühenden und verlockend nach Druckfarbe duftenden Wortpflanzen herangewachsen war. Ja, der Bücherwurm war ungemein gefräßig, wie es sich für ein derartiges Geschöpf eben gehörte. Und bei der großen Auslese an frisch aufgegangenen, blumigen Wortgewächsen konnte er an einem einzigen Tag sogar mehrere Bücher mitsamt den kautschukartigen Einbänden verspeisen. Eines Morgens aber, als er sich gerade an den in zahlreichen Satzreihen sprießenden Buchstabensalat eines neu gebundenen Werkes machen wollte, sah er plötzlich eine ungeheuer große, schmächtige Leseratte auf einer der Seiten zwischen den Zeilen herumschnüffeln. Wahrscheinlich hatte sie es auf die wohl schmeckenden Lesefrüchte abgesehen, die in dem Buch ebenfalls prächtig gediehen, überlegte der Bücherwurm. Aber Leseratten waren ja allgemein bekannt dafür, dass sie unbändige Allesfresser sind! Und kaum hatte der Bücherwurm diesen Gedanken zu Ende gedacht, als die Leseratte ihn auch schon erspähte, in einem Satz auf ihn zusprang und ohne ein Wort zu sagen einfach verschlang. Muistutksena kaikille tulevasta ainejärjestöjen kv-tapaamisesta vielä kertaalleen tämä kutsu, toivottavasti mahdollisimman monesta ainejärjestöstä pääsee edustaja paikalle.
