Announcement of CIMO/CIEE U.S. Training Placements Available Trainee Select Program
Continuing from the success of last spring’s trainee exchange program, the Centre for International Mobility (CIMO) will again administer a training placement service to Finnish students and recent graduates of universities and polytechnics. This service, called Trainee Select, is offered by the American organization called the Council for International Educational Exchange (CIEE).
Trainee Select gives students and recent graduates the opportunity to apply for study-related training in the United States with a variety of well-known and respected host organizations. The CIEE is currently in the process of receiving and reviewing resumes for the January 15 start date of the next round of trainees. The deadline for CIMO to receive applicants who wish to be included in this search is Friday, October 14, 2005. Fees All applicants who succeed in having their information forwarded to employers for consideration will need to pay a non-refundable CIEE application processing fee of $50 US.
Applicants who are subsequently offered and accept a training placement will be charged CIEE’s placement fee of $250 US (this price includes the $50 processing fee mentioned above).
To receive the J-1 training visa, necessary to enter the U.S., participants must enroll in CIEE’s Internship USA program (for students) or Professional Career Training USA program (for recent graduates). These programs charge a fee based on the length of training, and all fees include travel insurance for the length of the trainee’s stay.
Participants will also need to pay the U.S. Embassy’s visa application fees which total approximately 160€. Specific information on obtaining a U.S. visa can be found online at http://www.usembassy.fi
How to Apply Students or recent graduates who wish to apply to the CIEE Trainee Select program must submit a complete CIEE Cover Letter form (letter of motivation) and CIEE Resume form (CV) to CIMO, to be received no later than Friday, October 14, 2005.
