Dear Taipo Heiskari,
my name is Thomas Lichtenberg working for an accreditation agency in Germany. The Lappeenranta University of Technology Finland requests us to conduct peer review based accreditation procedures in the following clusters of degree programmes.
Normally, a student peer from another university is part of the peer group. I wonder if you were able to identify students who are interested to participate as student peers in one of the following clusters. The student peers should study in comparable degree programmes under accreditation and should be familiar with Quality Management at your university.
Cluster A: Degree programmes in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering
1) Ba Electrical Engineering (Re-accreditation)
2) Ma Electrical Engineering (taught in Finnish) (Re-accreditation)
3) Ma Electrical Engineering (taught in English) (first accreditation)
4) Ba Mechanical Engineering (Re-accreditation)
5) Ma Mechatronic System Design (first accreditation)
6) Ma Sustainable Production in Mechanical Engineering (first accreditation)
7) Ma Welded Metal structures (first accreditation)
Cluster B: Industrial Engineering and management and Computer Science
• Ba Industrial Engineering and Management (Re-accreditation)
• Ma Operations Management (Re-accrediation)
• Ma Global Management of Innovation and Technology (first accrediation)
• Ba Computer Science (Re-accreditation)
• Ma Computer Science
Cluster C: Energy Technology and Environmental Technology
1. Ba Environmental Technology (Re-accreditation)
2. Ma Sustainable Science and Solutions (Re-accreditation)
3. Ba Energy Technology (Re-accreditation)
4. Ma Energy Technology (Re-accreditation)
5. Ma Energy Systems (first accreditation)
Cluster D: Chemical Engineering
Ba Chemical Engineering (Re-accreditation)
Ma Process Chemistry (Re-acceditation)
Ma Chemical and Process Engineering (first accreditation)
Ma Chemical Engineering for Water Treatment
The University will send a self-assessment report where it explains the background, the learning outcomes, the curriculum etc about the programmes under accreditation. This self-assessment report will be sent to all peers for preparing the on-site visit. The peers are requested to give an overview of their impression of the documents and where additional information was required (about 1 day). In the first week of April there will be an on-site visit at LUT. All peers will come to the University. The peers have an internal round at first and then conduct a number of interviews with staff and students from the programmes under review. This may take about 2 days. The report will be written by the programme managers of ASIIN but the report will be sent to all peers for revision. This may take a few hours. ASIIN pays for all travel costs the hotel and whatever will be needed during the audit. Additionally, ASIIN pays a compensation of about 500 Euros for each peers.
Thank you for your support.
Kind regards
Thomas Lichtenberg
