Reykjavikissa Islannissa järjestetään Nordplus intensiivikurssi On-line Distance Education and Flexible Learning välillä 23.-28.3.2009. Kurssille haetaan nyt 3 opiskelijan lisäksi myös opettajaa/ muuta tiedekunnan henkilökuntaa edustamaan. Jos aihealue on tuttu ja kalenterissa on vapaata niin ota yhteyttä mahdollisimman pian. Haku opiskelijoille päättyy 15.12.

Kurssikuvaus:

On-line Distance Education / Flexible Learning

Course rationale

On-line education, blended- and flexible learning have been growing rapidly world wide for the last years effecting education at all levels. The fast growing development in ICT demands that teachers constantly have to update their knowledge and skills in this field. Also because of the fact, that this technology is just a normal part of the daily life of youngest generation (pupils).

The aim of this course is to introduce on-line learning in IUE and to share experiences and challenges among the participants.

At the end of the course the participants will have: • explored different learning styles and methods through ICT • realised the influence that on-line education has on traditional education • mastered new ways in: o making and producing learning material o teaching methods and communication • explored the possibilities of Web2 and Social Networks in teaching and learning • learned about Virtual Learning Environments and its developments.

Evaluation At the end of the distance part of the course participants are requested to write a report describing their learning process and reflecting on their practical work throughout the course. Participants who fulfil the course assignments will be granted with a course diploma.
