Victor + microbeta-koulutus/training

Hei! Biocenter on hankkinut nestetuikelaskurin (PerkinElmerin Microbeta) ja monileimalukijan (PerkinElmerin Victor3V). Nestetuikelaskurilla voi laskea radioaktiivisia- ja luminesoivia näytteitä kuoppalevyillä, eppareissa ja 4 mL:n putkissa. Victorilla taas pystyy käyttämään seuraavia tekniikoita kuoppalevyformaatissa: luminesenssi (injektorilla - dual luciferase), fluoresenssipolarisaatio, aikaerotteinen fluoresenssi, fluoresenssi sekä UV-ja näkyvän aallonpituusalueen fotometria. Laitteet asennetaan toimintakuntoon ensi viikon alussa ja niistä on käyttökoulutus keskiviikkona 2.11 klo 13 alkaen jatkuen torstai-iltapäivään saakka. Keskiviikon ja torstain aikana voitte käydä tutustumassa laitteisiin. Omat näytteet mukaan, jos vain sellaisia löytyy!! Laitteet sijaitsevat laboratiossa 312A. **** Biocenter has bought scintillation counter (PerkinElmer Microbeta) and multi-label reader (PerkinElmer Victor 3 V). With scintillation counter you can use multiwell plates, 1,5 mL and 4 mL tubes. With Victor you can use following techniques in the multi-well plate format: fluorescence, time-resolved fluorescence, UV- and visible light photometry, luminescence (with a injector - dual luciferase) and fluorescence polarization. These equipments are installed in the beginning of next week and the training of usage will start on Wednesday 2nd November at 1 pm and will continue until Thursday afternoon. During this time you can come to look at these new machines. If you have, please take your own samples with you! You can measure now your own samples with a help of specialists from PerkinElmer. Hi Pekka, There is terrible smell going around in labs again these days. Somebody came to check yesterday, but it does not help very much. I found the problem might come from the sink of the radioactive waste storage room again. I put some water in. Hopefully it helps. Since we dont go to that room very often, I think we should have someone or a list of person to take care of the matter. Demo of the DNA purification robot tomorrow

Dear scientists, We have obtained as a new equipment to Biocenter a robot to do the purification of DNA for making genotyping of mouse strains. The robot pipettes the solutions required and extracts DNA from ear clip samples. Our technicians (Jaana Kujala ja Johanna Kekolahti-Liias in Vainio team) have used it and the purification has yealded good quality DNA for genotyping our transgenic mouse lines. As the equipment has capacity more then we use it, the equipment may serve also other groups in the campus of the medical school. For this reason we will have tomorrow 25.20.05 a short one hour demo. The room where the equipment is, is small. So please if you can select a representative of your group to take part in this demo that will take place, Sorry for the short knowtise of the add. Dear all, My 50-200 ul BioHit pipettor with (if I remember correctly) green push button and black ink marking "JV" in the blue tip ejector collar has mysteriously disappeared from microarray (NanoDrop) lab. If you happen to see the pipettor, please return it to 441B ASAP. Heippa Kieppiläiset ! Tuolloin 22.9.2005 staff kokouksessa oli puhetta henkilökunnan kuvataulusta ja niinpä kysyimme Hampaan valokuvalaboratoriosta (tuosta naapurista) ja Liisa Kärki antoi alla olevat päivät ja ajat jolloin voi käydä kuvauttamassa hymyilevät kasvossa: vk 42 ti 18.10. klo 10-14 vk 43 ti 25.10. klo 10-14 vk 44 ti 1.11. klo 10-14 Ovi saattaa olla lukossa joten soita ovikelloa. Tarkoituksena on että nämä kuvat, asianomaisen nimen kera, laitetaan esille. Kuvataulun paikka on vielä hakusessa joten ehdotuksia otetaan kiitollisuudella vastaan. Hello All !
