Hei BCO-kieppiläiset, Ensi viikolla ti 16.4. klo 14.30-16 on tärkeä kieppiläisiä koskeva koulutustilaisuus, jossa käydään läpi mm. turvallisuusasioita ja pelastusuunnitelmaa. Paikka on Fysiologia F101. Kouluttaja on Turvallisuusalan kouluttaja ja konsultti Jukka Rantanen. Valitettavasti tieto tästä tuli näin pikaisella aikataululla Kiepin turvallisuuspäälliköltä (Reijo Kauppila), mutta toivottavasti mahdollisimman moni voi tähän osallistua. Oulu BioImaging – OBI network workshop in April 10th 2013 The goal of OBI is to bring together scientists from different disciplines to apply and promote development of imaging technologies and image analysis within Oulu University. OBI Day gathers biologically, medically and technically oriented imaging laboratories, whose expertise cover molecular and cell biology, medical and pre-clinical imaging, optoelectronics, machine vision, material sciences and image analysis. In addition to the presentations and posters on the latest developments in the local imaging infrastructure, there will be invited talks outside of OBI, including Raman spectroscopy and Hyperspectral imaging, as well as update on national and European imaging infrastructures given by Professor Eero Vuorio (Director of Biocenter Finland and the chair of FIRI committee). Mikäli teillä on akuuttia tiskattavaa, niin pyydän teitä tuomaan tavarat erikseen, kiireellisenä merkittynä Mikron välinehuoltoon. Tuokaa myös kaikki autoklavoitava tavara Mikron sterilointihuoneeseen 236A. There will be no regular equipment maintenance service on Thursday and Friday this week in Kieppi building. If you have urgent dishes, please bring them directly to the dish washing room at Microbiology marked with label urgent. I would like to remind you all of the Nanosight-demonstration on Thursday. Welcome! Best regards, Emma _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Dear All, There will be a presentation and also demonstration of NANOSIGHT-apparatus here in Kieppi, 2nd floor, Microbiology library on Thursday 4th of April at 10 am. The Nanosight-technique is for nanoparticle analysis in biological samples. See attached specific information. Applications are: - Exosome and microvesicle characterization - Liposomes - Nanoparticle aggregates - Viruses - Drug delivery and drug discovery - Vaccines - Carbon nanotube analysis - Metallic nanoparticles There will be a possibility to discuss of all applications with a Nanosight-specialist and to discuss the need for this technique in general. Please share this message within your departments and research groups. I would greatly appreciate if you could notify me in advance if you will attend (mostly to assure that there will be sufficient space for everyone) but you are welcome to pop in ex tempore as well!
