Office and lab doors

Hi all, I've noticed that some of the office and lab doors can be a bit tricky to get locked properly due to a misalignment in door frame for example. I'm compiling a list of these so if you have noticed a door that does not lock easily, please let me know so I can inform ISS. Also if you notice loose door handles etc. which is a common as the screws holding the lock and the handle together seem to detach from time to time. Thanks! FBMM Christmas party 2016/ BMTK pikkujoulut 2016

Dear all, You are warmly welcome to participate in the FBMM Christmas party! The Christmas party will take place on Friday 9th of December at 6 p.m. in restaurant Veranta in the city center (Ravintola Veranta, Sokos Hotel Arina, 3rd floor, Pakkahuoneenkatu 16, 90100 Oulu). We will have a Christmas buffet table with lovely food! Two glasses of wine are included in the meal but there are, off course, a possibility to buy more drinks from the bar. Come and enjoy the good food and drinks in great company! The registration lists can be found in Pia's (F202A) or Auli's office (L202A) and the registration fee is 10EUR. Remember to mention if you have any special diet. Please register by Friday 18th of November! If you want you can also bring a small gift (max. 5EUR) directly to the restaurant as Santa is coming to visit us! If you bring a gift, you will also receive one. :) Since we only can provide the place and the atmosphere the research groups are free to come up with some entertainment if they want. "safety walks” for BCO-Kieppi people

Dear BCO-Kieppi people, We will again organize so-called “safety walks” for BCO-Kieppi people who have not yet participated in them. We will walk through our premises and locate the emergency exits, fire alarms, fire extinguishers etc, check the meeting point for emergencies, and talk about safety. Participation to this about 30 min walk is obligatory for everybody. This is organized for your own safety. There are now two possibilities to participate: November 1 (in Finnish) and November 8 (in English), both starting at 14.00. Starting point for the tours is top of the main staircase 4th floor. See you there! Fuji LAS imager, 4th floor

Hi all, There have been some random problems with the cooling of the camera lately. I changed some cables today but I don't know if that has any effect on the system so please let me know if the cooling problems continue. Even if the program shows the temperature of 126.9 (just a some bug in the system I guess), it usually cools it down (the correct temperature value should appear after a minute or so) so please wait a few minutes. If it never reaches the -30 degree set point, then it's necessary to power down the imager and just try again. I will try to contact the Fuji support next week but if the camera cooling is faulty, then it might be really difficult to fix it without changing the whole camera unit.
