Office and lab doors

Hi all, I've noticed that some of the office and lab doors can be a bit tricky to get locked properly due to a misalignment in door frame for example. I'm compiling a list of these so if you have noticed a door that does not lock easily, please let me know so I can inform ISS. Also if you notice loose door handles etc. which is a common as the screws holding the lock and the handle together seem to detach from time to time. Thanks! WEBROPOL: BCO RUNaWAY – 30 years of fun

Dear All, As announced earlier, on June 1st we will have “BCO RUNaWAY – 30 years of fun” afternoon coming up. An essential part of this afternoon celebrating the 30th Anniversary of BCO, is to do something fun together. Enclosed you will find a link to Webropol questionnaire suggesting what this fun could be. This is not yet the registration for the event itself but an inquiry about what would you prefer to do. Please, note Q3 - more suggestions for activities are welcome! About the tentative program: we start with a birthday cake and then continue with entertaining/nice activities on and around Nallikari beach and eventually have a summer barbeque at the Nallikari restaurant. Expected time is from 13.00 hrs – 17.00 hrs. Chemical risk training in English, important to participate

Dear all, Note this important training in September in English in Kontinkangas especially for those PhD-students, researchers and technicians who work with chemicals but are not so familiar with evaluation of chemical risks. You should participate in this! This is part of our laboratory safety. There will be other sessions for Finnish speaking, so keep this training open for those who do not understand Finnish. Registration necessary, See personnel training portal. Chemical risk training, Kontinkangas (in English) Time: On 28th September 2016 9.00-12.00 am. (3h) Contents and realisation: The participant in the education will understand the carrying out of the evaluation of chemical risks and can in his or her work utilise the principles and information which are given in the operational safety bulletin and other central chemical information sources. Furthermore, the participant will study the chemical law (the new package markings of chemicals and the extended operational safety bulletin) and know how to control chemical risks in laboratory work. The education includes expert lectures and teamwork.
