Dear all, We are happy to announce that the 35th Biocenter Oulu Day will be held on March 12, 2026, in Kontinkangas campus, Aapistie 5A, Leena Palotie auditorium 101A. This annual event brings together researchers and clinicians in biosciences and biomedicine to explore a selected scientific topic. The theme for next year is “Across the immuniverse – the many dimensions of immunology” and the program will feature expert speakers covering diverse aspects of immunology. BCO-NAS1 getting full again

Hi all, The NAS is getting full again and that will stop transfers from the instruments. BCO-NAS1 is not meant for permanent storage of the data! At some point next year, NAS will be replaced by a different solution so now it's a good time to move your old files away. BRs, Antti

Hi, Here are some more information (below in Finnish)... short summary in English: The work will be done between 7 AM and 6 PM and not during the weekends. The work will take around 2 months, but after around 2 weeks, they will move a bit more far away from the 7C building. They also say that they have changed some processes to avoid the heavy vibration... also feedback is asked from us. -Kristian Hei, välitin huolen ja tiedot tapahtuneista urakoitsijalle. Siellä oltiin tietysti pahoillaan työvaiheen aiheuttamasta tärinästä ja häiriöstä. Tämän lisäksi pyydettiin lisätietoja ja kerrottiin suoritetun joitain muutoksia pontituksen toimintatapoihin. Alla olevan mukaisia lisätietoja toivottiin käyttäjiltä: * Onko suoritetuilla toimintatavan muutoksilla ollut tunnettavaa vaikutusta? * Onko mittauksiin vaikuttaneiden tärinän huippuarvojen ajoista tarkempaa tietoa, jotta urakoitsija voi diagnosoida tapahtunutta ja mahdollisesti asettaa raja-arvoja tärinänmittauksen hälytysrajoihin? Alla vielä Urakoitsijan työmaainsinöörin vastaus: "Hei Pekka, ikävä kuulla, että pontitus aiheuttanut häiriötä! Tärinöitä olen teidänkin talonne osalta seurannut ja diagrammien perusteella ollut tärinä tosi kohtuullista. Mutta herkkiä ovat laitteetkin. Pontitusta tapahtuu meluluvan puitteissa arkisin kello 7.00-18.00 välisenä aikana. Pontitusta tontilla tapahtuu seuraavat pari kuukautta. Nyt ollaan pontattu tien vieressä lähellä teidän kiinteistöänne. Tästä siirrytään parin viikon kuluttua K5 rakennuksen seinustalle, jolloin varmaan jonkun verran tärinä helpottuu. Tänään ollaan pikkusen toimintatapoja myös muutettu, niin seurataan, onko vaikutusta. Onko sinulla antaa minulle tarkkoja kellonaikoja, milloin mittauksissa on ilmennyt häiriötä? "Sairaalatyömaalla alkaa pian C-rakennuksen tuentatöiden (ponttien) asennus. C-rakennukseen tulee pysäköintitiloja maanpinnan alapuolelle ja maata pontitetaan ennen kaivuutöitä.
