Not again!

We have a brand new Eppendorf centrifuge in BCO 4th floor. There are still users in the Kieppi who do not have any basic lab manners. Wrong adapters used, wet adapters, liquid in side... Somebody has to go back to the basics in their training, and supervisors are responsible that their personnel is trained. The centrifuge has been in general use, but in case this happens once more, the use will be restricted only for Core facility use. Next time if needed we can track down the individual misuser. There is a lab book and calender to sign in your use, and to ensure that you obey this, samples running without any signing can be removed any time. Reminder: avoid contacts

Dear all, remember to keep the distances, currently recommended about 2m. In addition, small rooms and offices should not be too crowded, even for a short period. I have noticed that some of the problem places are coffee rooms and cell culture rooms. Please, schedule your coffee and lunch breaks to avoid contacts. For instance in Kieppi 4th floor 456B I urge you to keep the max. in 5 persons, and not to sit directly opposite somebody. Thank you all for working here in these special circumstances! Hi all, remember all to close freezer room doors properly closed after you! Today freezer room 443B had been left partly open and temperature had already increased (-13,1). Get ready: BCO core facilities start using iLab reservation system

Dear BCO core facility users, most of Biocenter Oulu core facilities will start using iLab reservation system for reserving equipment and other services at the end of March. You are welcome to info events to learn what this means to you as a customer, and meet core facility coordinators to get more iLab-info in specific cores. The info events are on March 11, 9-11, in Kieppi 3rd floor 338B (most cores present, except EM and LM) and on March 20, 9-11, Kieppi 3rd floor 338B (Most cores present except TG). Note! The invoicing system will be included in iLab. Therefore, the customers have to have their invoicing information when making reservations (cost center, project number). There will be instructions about the use of iLab on our web pages. There will be overlapping period when both iLab and Asimov reservation system will be active. Plastic (expired) lab ware available for free

Hi all, There is bunch of expired plastic lab ware (Cell culture dishes, 24-well and 6-well plates, millipore sterile filter bottles etc.) in front of the freight elevator on 4th floor. Please Be free to use! They are, however, quite old so use them at your own risk. 😊 They will be thrown away after couples of days.
