Dear BCO-Kieppi people,

I just now received an important notice about “pest control” for silverfish =sokeritoukka (Lepisma saccharina) to be done here in the whole Kieppi building (Aapistie 5A) on Friday 5^th, starting from 16.00.

Information in Finnish can be found attached. I try to translate the main points here. NOTE! laboratories are also included besides the offices and toilets (in the Finnish version laboratories not mentioned).

1.The treatment (pre treatment and poisoning with –k-othrine, deltametrine) will take place this week Friday 5th, starting from 16.00. Of course you may not be in the same space then.

2. If needed, you may return to the treated area earliest after 2 hours after spraying.

3. Pregnant women and small children under 2 years, have to wait at least 5 hours after spraying, before entering.

4. The same as in 3. for those who suffer from asthma or allergies.

I think the spraying will take time and the poison will spread all over building during a long time, so avoid being in the premises immediatelly after the time limits shown above!

5. It is wished that the space by the walls should be open, however, you do not have to move heavy items.

6. There will be another treatment at some point.
