DO THE MFA INTRODUCTION ACTIONS BY WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15

Hei! Monivaiheisen MFA-tunnistuksen käyttöönotto on meneillään yksikössäsi. 

Jos olet ottanut MFA:n käyttöösi, on yliopiston Microsoft- eli O365-tilisi jo suojattu ja olet tehnyt oman osuutesi yliopiston tietoturvan parantamiseksi. Hienoa! Voit siinä tapauksessa jättää tämän viestin huomiotta.

Jos et ole vielä ottanut MFA-tunnistusta käyttöösi, muistathan tehdä tarvittavat käyttöönottotoimenpiteet viimeistään keskiviikkona 15.9. Käyttöönoton vaiheet:

1. Ota todennuksessa käyttämäsi puhelin ulottuvillesi ja kirjaudu tietokoneella O365-tilisi turvatietoon (linkki: https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info, kirjaudu O365-tunnuksellasi).  Tallenna turvatietoon ensisijainen todennustapasi ja myös varamenetelmä poikkeustilannetta varten. Tässä vaiheessa saat myös testitodennuksen puhelimeesi.
2. Kytke MFA yliopiston käyttäjätunnukseesi MFA-käyttöönottolomakkeen kautta (linkki: http://u.oulu.fi/mfa, kirjaudu UNIV-tunnuksellasi).
3. Voit jatkaa työskentelyäsi normaalisti. MFA-suojaus aktivoituu parin tunnin kuluessa, jonka jälkeen varmistuspyyntöjä tulee puhelimeesi, kun kirjaudut O365-tunnuksellasi verkon ulkopuolella käyttäen tietokonetta, tablettia tai puhelinta.

Jos et ota MFA:ta omatoimisesti käyttöön, asetetaan se sinulle käyttöön torstaina 16.9. Silloin MFA kytketään sinun tunnukseesi automaattisesti (ohjeessa vaihe 2). Sen jälkeen et enää pääse ilman todennusta kirjautumaan mihinkään O365-palveluun yliopiston tai Oamkin verkon ulkopuolella. Käytännössä et pääse tietokoneella, tabletilla tai älypuhelimella sähköpostiisi, kalenteriin, Patioon, Teamsiin tai muihinkaan O365-palveluihin ennen kuin käyt asettamassa todennusmenetelmän O365-tilisi turvatietoon. Tee se viipymättä (ohjeessa vaihe 1).

Kun MFA on käytössäsi, varmistat verkon ulkopuolella tehdyt tunnuksesi kirjautumiset puhelimella. Näin toimien mahdollinen ulkopuolinen taho ei pääse kirjautumaan käyttäjätililläsi, vaikka hän olisikin saanut tietoonsa tunnuksen ja salasanan. Vähitellen käyttämiisi laitteisiin syntyy luottamussuhteita, jolloin todentamiskerrat vähenevät. Voit myös itse asettaa laitekohtaisen 60 vrk:n tauon, jonka aikana varmennusta kysytään vain, jos käytät toista laitetta tai olet vaihtanut salasanasi. Kampuksen verkossa ja VPN-yhteydessä varmennusta ei kysytä.

MFA-tukiryhmä

ICT-palvelun MFA-tukiryhmä auttaa sinua käyttöönoton aikana ja sitä seuraavana päivänä. Jos käyttöönotossa ilmenee ongelmia 16. tai 17.9., soita ensisijaisesti MFA-tukiryhmän numeroon 0294 483 150. Numero päivystää virka-aikana.

Hei! The introduction of the multi-factored MFA authentication is in progress in your unit.

If you already have brought into use MFA on your O365 account of the university, your user account has already been protected and you have done your part to improve the information security of the university. Great! In that case, you can ignore this message.

If you have not brought MFA into your use yet, please do the required actions by Wednesday, September 15. The phases of the introduction:

1. Take near you that phone which you will use as a verifying tool and use a web browser of the computer to sign-in to your O365 accounts security info (the link: https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info, sign-in with your O365 username). Save your primary verification method in the security info and select also the secondary method for an exceptional situation. In this phase, you receive a test verification to your phone.
2. Connect your university account with MFA through the MFA activation form (the link: http://u.oulu.fi/mfa, sign-in with your UNIV account).
3. You can now continue your work normally. MFA will be active during the next two hours, after that verification requests come to your phone when you are signing-in with your O365 account by computer, tablet or phone outside the network.

If you won’t bring MFA into use yourself, it will be set into your use on Thursday, September 16. Then your account will be connected to MFA (phase 2 in the guidelines) automatically. After that, you are not able to log in to your email, your calendar, Patio, Teams or any O365 service without the verification outside the network of the university or Oamk before you have set your authentication method. Do it at once (phase 1 in the guidelines).

When MFA is in your use, you will secure the sign-ins of your account made outside the network by the telephone. By operating this way, the possible external quarter is not able to be signed-in on your user account even if he had got a user name and a password to his information. Trust relationships are created to the devices used by you gradually in which case verifying times will decrease. You can also set the device-specific break of 60 days, during that time the verification will be only asked for if you operate another device or have changed your password. In campus network and in VPN connection no verification is asked.

MFA support team

There is MFA support team in ICT Services to help you during the introduction and the next day. If any problems in the introduction turn up in September 16 or 17, please call primarily number 0294 483 150. The number is during the office hours on duty.
