Olemme mukana Team FutuRenassa, johon kuuluu tutkijoita muun muassa Oulun ja Helsingin sekä Aalto-yliopistosta, ja jonka tavoitteena on 3D-tulostaa tutkimuskäyttöön tarkoitettu toimiva minimunuainen. Tiimimme on mukana myös Helsinki Challengen semifinaaleissa. Helsinki Challenge on tiedepohjainen kilpailu, jossa tiimit luovat ratkaisuja YK:n kestävän kehityksen tavoitteisiin.  Kilpailu on nyt edennyt vaiheeseen, jossa valitaan finalistit. Kaikki semifinalistit pitchaavat vielä kerran 6.-7.6. järjestettävässä Helsinki Challenge Semifinal Pitch Nights -illoissa. Tilaisuus alkaa molempina iltoina klo 18:00 ja paikkana on Helsingin Yliopiston päärakennuksen suuri sali. FutuRenan pitchin pääset kuulemaan 7.6. Tapahtumiin on vapaa pääsy kenellä tahansa, jota asia kiinnostaa, se vaatii vain ennakkorekisteröitymisen. Jos et pääse paikalle, niin voit seurata tilaisuutta myös livestriimauksen kautta.

Yleisö pääsee myös äänestämään parhaita ratkaisuja ja eniten ääniä saanut tiimi pääsee suoraan finaalivaiheeseen. Äänestys tapahtuu tekstiviestillä. Jokaisella tiimillä on esiintymisjärjestyksen mukainen numero 1-20. Äänestä lähettämällä suosikkitiimisi numero tekstiviestillä numeroon +358 45 7396 0300. Eli jos haluat äänestää meitä, lähetä viesti 18 edellä mainittuun numeroon. Voit äänestää vain kerran per puhelinliittymä ja hinta on normaali tekstiviestimaksu. Äänestys alkaa 6.6. klo 18:00 ja loppuu 7.6. klo 19:55. Molempina päivinä voi äänestää kaikkia tiimejä. Eniten ääniä saanut tiimi julkistetaan tapahtuman päätteeksi 7.6. Tässä vielä tiimien esiintymisjärjestys ja äänestysnumerot.

Dear FBMM and BCO collegues,

 

We in Team FutuRena, a team that consists of scientist from Oulu, Helsinki and Aalto Universities, want to 3D bioprint a functional mini kidney for medical research purposes. Our team is one of the semifinalists of Helsinki Challenge, a science-based idea competition and accelerator organized by ten Finnish universities. Helsinki Challenge teams will tackle the UN’s sustainable development goals, which aim at making the world a better place. The competition is now in the phase where the finalists are chosen. All semifinalists pitch one more time in the Helsinki Challenge Semifinal Pitch Nights on the 6th and 7th of June. The event starts both nights at 18:00 and the location is the great Hall of Helsinki University. Our turn is on Wednesday the 7th. The Pitch Nights have free entry and anyone interested in the themes can join, only a pre-registration is required. If you are not able to attend in Helsinki, you can follow the pitches also via live streaming.

At the Semifinal Pitch Nights the audience will also have a chance to vote for their favorite team. The most voted team will proceed straight to the final stage. For the safety reasons the voting will happen by texting. Every team will have a number from 1 to 20 according to the presentation order. Vote by texting the number of your favorite team to number +358 45 7396 0300, e.g. if you want to vote for us, write a text message with only number 18, and send it to the number above. You can only vote once from one cell phone plan and the price of one text message is the texting cost of your cell phone plan. Voting starts on June 6th at 18:00 and will end at 19.55 on June 7th. You can vote for Wednesday’s teams already on Tuesday and vice versa! The most voted team will be announced at the end of the event on June 7th.
