Dear All,

The first OBI Day Science Image Contest was a success. A multidisciplinary jury (members from Biocenter Oulu, Oulu University Hospital, Infotech Oulu and Oulu Museum of Art) selected ten most outstanding pictures out of 32 to the finals. Those ten nominated pictures were presented during the OBI Day on Apr 16^th and the audience had a possibility to vote for the best OBI Science Image 2015.

Pictures reaching the finals were:

Easter Egg

Underneath the Cartilage

Into the light

Motoneuron road

Renal river delta

The Fibroblast Pattern

The Sun

Waiting for Differentiation

“Motoneuron Road” by Heli Härönen was the most voted picture (1^st prize) followed by “Waiting for Differentiation by Ilkka Miinalainen (2^nd prize) and “Underneath the Cartilage” by Sakari Karhula (3^rd prize). OBI network congratulates all the finalists and thanks all who submitted their images to the contest!
