Dear old and new Light Microscopy Core Facility users!
I'm happy to announce that the new Spinning Disc Confocal Microscope set-up for live cell imaging is now fully functional. All users are personally trained by BCO light microscopy personnel and microscopy time can be reserved through Asimov according to our user policy.
The microscope system is designed especially for the fast and gentle live cell imaging. It is equipped with heated top-stage CO2 incubator for simultaneous incubation and time-lapse microscopic analysis of the living specimens. Laser channels include 405nm, 488 and 561nm excitation wave lengths and appropriate detection filters.
In addition to spinning disc confocal unit for imaging of fluorescent proteins/probes, the system is equipped with FRAP (Fluorescence Recovery After Photobleaching) for molecular dynamics measurements and TIRF (Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence) for analysis of the cell surface events.
