JAAKKO LUMPEEN JUHLASYMPOSIUM JA ILTAJUHLA

Järjestämme jo maaliskuussa virallisesti eläkkeelle jääneen Jaakko Lumpeen kunniaksi juhlasymposiumin torstaina 15.11.2012 Linnanmaalla, biologian laitoksella.

Symposiumin alku on osa kaksipäiväistä Evolutiivisen genomiikan seminaaria, jonka järjestävät yhteistyössä Biocenter Oulu, Oulun yliopiston biologian laitos ja Populaatiogenetiikan tutkijakoulu.

Tässä klo 12.30 alkavassa osassa puhuvat akatemiaprofessori Craig Primmer Turun yliopistosta (Jaskan yhteistyökumppani) ja nykyisin Helsingin yliopistossa tutkijana toimiva Ari Löytynoja (teki pro gradu -työnsä Jaskan ohjauksessa).

Iltapäivällä, päiväkahvit nautittuamme pääsemme kuulemaan Jaskan oman esitelmän, minkä jälkeen vuoron saavat Jaskan kanssa työskentelevät tai työskennelleet Outi Savolainen, Pekka Lankinen ja Aleksey Veselov.

Iltapäivän esitykset ovat osittain englanniksi ja osittain suomeksi.

Kahvitarjoilun järjestämisen helpottamiseksi olisi mukavaa, jos ilmoittaisit osallistumisestasi Heidi Aisalalle.

Muistelua jatketaan symposiumin jälkeen vapaamuotoisemmin Ravintola Rauhalassa järjestettävässä (ei turhan virallisessa) iltajuhlassa.

Kaikki Jaskan tuntevat ovat lämpimästi tervetulleita!

Iltajuhlaan pyydämme ilmoittautumaan Heidi Aisalalle to 8.11. klo 16 mennessä. Illaskortin hinta on 45 euroa (alkoholillinen) /

30 euroa (alkoholiton). Ilmoitathan samalla mahdollisesta erityisruokavaliosta. Illalliskorttien maksuohjeet annetaan ilmoittautuneille henkilökohtaisesti.

SYMPOSIUM AND PARTY FOR JAAKKO LUMME

We're organising a symposium in honour of Jaakko Lumme, who officially retired already at the beginning of March. The symposium will take place on Thursday 15 November 2012 in Linnanmaa, at the Department of Biology.

The beginning of the symposium, starting at 12.30, is a part of the Evolutionary Genomics Workshop, organised by Biocenter Oulu, University of Oulu, Department of Biology and the Finnish Population Genetics Graduate School. In this part there will be two talks, given by Academy Professor Craig Primmer from University of Turku (Jaska's collaborator) and Dr. Ari Löytynoja from University of Helsinki (Jaska's former master's student).

In the afternoon, after the coffee break, we'll first hear a talk by Jaakko Lumme himself, after which the turn will be given to people that have been or are working with Jaska; Outi Savolainen, Pekka Lankinen and Aleksey Veselov.

The talks in the afternoon will be given partly in English and partly in Finnish. In order to ease the arrangements of the coffee break service, it would be nice if you informed Heidi Aisala about your participation in the symposium.

After the symposium, we'll continue the celebration in a more relaxed atmosphere in Ravintola Rauhala, starting at 18.30. All of you who know Jaska are warmly welcome!

We kindly ask people who are willing to participate in the evening party to register by sending an e-mail to Heidi Aisala.

The deadline for registration is 8 November 2012 at 16.00 (4 p.m.) The dinner card for the evening party costs 45 euros (alcoholic beverages

included) or 30 euros (non-alcoholic). If you have any special meal requirements, inform us about those in your registration. Information on dinner card payment will be given personally after you have registered.
