Hei, kanditöiden ja gradujen ohjaajat, ottakaa huomioon Laturin käyttökatkon vaikutus valmiiden töiden arviointiin. Neuvokaa opiskelijoitanne lataamaan valmiit tutkielmat hyvissä ajoin järjestelmään, jotta erityisesti kandityöt ehditään tarkastaa, hyväksyä ja arviointi lähettää lähipalveluihin study.science(a)oulu.fi<mailto:study.science@oulu.fi> Laturissa ei saa olla yhtään palautettua LuK-tutkielmaa tai gradua järjestelmän sulkeutuessa. Käyttökatkon aikaisten töiden palauttamisesta ja hyväksymisestä tiedotetaan myöhemmin. Uutinen Patiossa: Oodi-opintotietojärjestelmän käytön päättyessä myös sähköisten opinnäytteiden syöttöjärjestelmä Laturin käyttöön tulee käyttökatkos ja järjestelmänvaihdos. Nykyinen Laturi poistuu kokonaan käytöstä ja tilalle tulee koko opinnäytetyöprosessin kattava uusi Laturi. Järjestelmän vaihdosta johtuen Laturissa on arvioitu käyttökatko 11.10.-21.11, jolloin opinnäytteiden palauttaminen, hyväksyminen ja julkaiseminen ei ole mahdollista. Huomioi nämä asiat käyttökatkoon liittyen: * Laturissa aloitettujen opinnäytteiden hyväksymismerkinnät tulee olla ilmoitettuna koulutuksen lähipalveluihin 10.10. mennessä Oodi-kirjausta varten. * 10.10. mennessä hyväksytyksi ilmoitetut opinnäytteet julkaistaan Jultikassa noin viikon kuluessa. Tämä edellyttää, että tarkastajat ja hyväksyjät ovat ladanneet työn arvosteltavaksi Laturista ennen työn hyväksymistä. * 10.10. jälkeen Laturiin ei voi enää palauttaa opinnäytteitä, eikä järjestelmässä aloitettuja opinnäytteitä voi enää hyväksyä. * Käyttökatkon jälkeen kaikki vanhassa Laturissa kesken jääneet opinnäyteprosessit tulee aloittaa uudelleen uudessa Laturissa. Vanhasta Laturista ei siirry tietoja uuteen Laturiin. terv. Minna _____ ______ ______ Hei, supervisors of BSc and MSc thesis. Please take into account that your students will load their thesis to Laturi (see details below) in time. Especially the BSc thesis has to be evaluated, accepted and statement sent to study.science(a)oulu.fi<mailto:study.science@oulu.fi> before the brake. There cannot be any loaded thesis in Laturi when it is closed. More information about the thesis submission and evaluation will be published later. News in Patio: With the discontinuation of the student and study information register Oodi, the current Laturi system for the submission of electronic theses will also be discontinued and replaced with a completely new Laturi, which will cover the entire thesis process. Due to the implementation of the new system Laturi will be out of use 11 October - 21 November, during which time submission, approval and publishing of theses will not be possible. Please note the following effects of the system downtime: * All approval markings for theses already in Laturi must be submitted to an Academic Affairs service point by 10 October for recording into Oodi. * All theses approved by 10 October will be published in Jultika within one week. This requires that the reviewers and approvers have downloaded the thesis for assessment from Laturi before its approval. * After 10 October it will not be possible to submit theses into Laturi, and the theses already in the system cannot be approved. Once the system downtime is over, all thesis processes that were not completed in the old system must be restarted in the new Laturi. Hei, OSAT:n sulkeutuminen 17.9. https://osat.oulu.fi/ (virallisesti sulkeutuu 19.9.viikonloppuna, huom. silloin ei ole saatavissa teknistä apua, jos tulee ongelmatilanne lomakkeen täyttämisessä), WebOodi -opintojärjestelmän poistuminen 19.10. sekä Peppi -opintojärjestelmän sulku 20.10.-22.11. vaikuttavat tutkintotodistusanomusten tekemiseen ja tutkintotodistuksen saamiseen. Syys- ja lokakuussa Luonnontieteiden kandidaatiksi tai Filosofian maisteriksi valmistuvat, jotka ette ole vielä hyväksyttäneet minulla valmistumishopsia, ottakaa heti yhteyttä sähköpostitse ja ilmoittakaa missä kuussa valmistutte (tutkintotodistuksen valmistumispäivämäärä tulee olemaan 30.9., 31.10.), mitä opintoja (pakolliset/valinnaiset) ei näy rekisterissä, on vielä kesken. Jos teillä on opettajanne hyväksymä hops, lähettäkää tämä pdf nyt minulle. Riippuen siitä kuinka moni ottaa yhteyttä, niin katson, ehdinkö tarkistaa hopsia ennen OSAT:n sulkeutumista. Joka tapauksessa teidän pitää tehdä tutkintoanomus OSAT:iin 17.9. mennessä (tavallisesti Hops olisi siinä kaikilla mukana). Jos en ehdi tarkistaa hopsia ennen 17.9., niin teette siis OSAT_anomuksen, tarkistan hopsin myöhemmin ja se lähetetään erikseen LuTK/TTK lähipalveluiden sihteereille. Jos teillä on omaopettajanne hyväksymä Hops, niin laittakaa se OSAT:iin (tarkistan sen kuitenkin sitä ennen, että on ok). Jos sinulla on valmiita pää- tai sivuaineiden opintokokonaisuuksia, hae niiden koostamista hyvissä ajoin ennen Oodin sulkeutumista (19.10.): lähetä koostamispyyntö ko. tiedekunnan palveluosoitteeseen: https://www.oulu.fi/fi/opiskelijalle/yhteystiedot-opiskelijalle/koulutuksen…. Tutkintohakemuksen voi tehdä OSAT-järjestelmässä 19.9. saakka, jonka jälkeen sen korvaa väliaikainen sähköinen lomake (marras- ja joulukuussa valmistuvat). Tästä tulee lisätietoa myöhemmin. Jos suunnittelet valmistuvasi syys- tai lokakuussa, sinun kannattaa siis tehdä tutkintohakemus OSAT:ssa nyt. Kanditutkielman/Gradun toimittamisesta tarkastettavaksi marraskuun kokoukseen tiedotetaan myöhemmin miten tehdään) to 16.12.2021 (toimitustapa tarkastettavaksi tiedotetaan myöhemmin) Tutkintotodistukset toimitetaan jälkikäteen, joka tarkoittaa erityisesti lokakuun osalta noin kuukauden viivästymistä. Marraskuun valmistumisen odotetaan tapahtuvan melko normaalissa aikataulussa eli valmistuminen 30.11. ja todistus sitten jälkitoimituksena joulukuussa. Joulukuun tutkintotodistus toimitetaan tammikuussa 2022. terv. WebOodi will be closed permanently 19.10. and Peppi system is closed 20.10.-22.11. This will affect to the diploma applications and getting the diploma. I will check your personal study plan because it is needed as appendix for the MSc diploma application. Please contact me now if you are completing your diploma in September or October I will check your PSP now. If I am not able to check it before the OSAT closure I will send PSP afterwards to the Faculty. Main point is that you do now the OSAT application. University will inform later how the thesis is delivered to the referees) 16.12.2021 (thesis instructions informed later) If you are planning to graduate during the service break, your graduation will be recorded and diploma delivered after the service break. For those who will graduate in October the diploma delay will be one month. In November diplomas will be ready in December and for December diplomas as normal in January 2022. WBW Minna

Biology thursday seminar speakers and suggestions wanted!

Dear colleagues, I am working now on the biology thursday seminar program for this semester. Please let me know if yourself, your new group members or incoming visitors are available to give a talk - this is a great way for newcomers to introduce themselves to the Unit, and the old faces to show their latest developments! Also I am looking for suggestions for speakers from basically anywhere who could give remote zoom talks, the plan is to keep the seminar running partially online even when we return to "normal" work. If I don't hear suggestions, be prepared for a lot of ant talks from my friends :-) The seminar will start with Prof. Craig Primmer from Helsinki on the 22nd of September, but otherwise the schedule is still very much open!
