Alueellisiin EAKR- ja ESR -hakuihin käytettävissä olevaan rahoitukseen ohjelman muutos aiheuttaa merkittävän laskun ensi vuonna. Furthermore, 41 calls will follow a two-stage application process: applicants first submit a short proposal, and only the most promising are invited to provide a full application. First Finnish National iNaturalist Identification Session (January 30–31, 2026)

Dear colleagues, I am planning to organise the First Finnish National iNaturalist Identification Session at the University of Oulu on January 30–31, 2026. The main aim of this event is to bring together professional and amateur experts from Finland to help identify existing iNaturalist observations. This is particularly important, as currently around 35% of Finnish iNaturalist records, approximately half a million observations, remain unidentified. In addition to the identification work, the event will include presentations and hands-on workshops. It will be organised in a hybrid format, allowing both on-site participation in Oulu and remote attendance. Further details will be provided after the upcoming holiday season. If you would like to join the event as a co-organiser or a volunteer, or if you would like to contribute a workshop focused on the identification of particular organism groups (regardless of whether you are an active iNaturalist user or not), please contact me as soon as possible. This will be a great opportunity to share your expertise with colleagues and amateur naturalists, and I would be very grateful for your contribution. Arvioinnissa kiinnitetään huomiota työn merkitykseen eläinten kannalta, sen vaikuttavuuteen, sovellettavuuteen ja innovatiivisuuteen. Attending the seminar supports your continuing professional development. The symposium will be held at the University of Oulu, Kontinkangas campus, Aapistie 5A, Leena Palotie Hall (101A). We invite abstracts for short oral communications and posters from doctoral students and other researchers. Hei, Seuraavilla kevätlukukauden kursseilla tarvitaan sivutoimisia tuntiopettajia / We need assistant teachers in the following courses in the spring term: * 754331A Biologinen ja mikrobiologinen sisäympäristö (in Finnish), laboratorioharjoitukset. Opettajilla tulisi olla käytynä ko. kurssi ja lisäksi Solukkoviljelykurssista on hyötyä (mutta ei pakollista). Describe your motivation to teach in the course, and which year you have possibly taken the course yourself, with which grade, when you have graduated or how many years you have studied thus far. Tuntipalkkasi määräytyy suorittamasi tutkinnon perusteella ja palkkaa maksetaan myös opetuksen valmistelusta (max. 1,3 x kontaktiopetustunnit). Jos sinulla on työsopimus yliopistolle, neuvon mahdollisen ylimääräisen palkanmaksun suhteen. / If you don’t have a contract at the university, the hourly wage is agreed based on your degree and that is paid also for preparation of teaching (max 1,3 x contact teaching hours). If you already have a contract at the university, I’ll advice how to get possible extra compensation for teaching. Hi all, Please remember to record your working hours in the SAP CATS system before your vacation (you can enter them already now). >From the tatu.oulu.fi you can see how the hours for December should be recorded. If you normally record your hours to a project, in December often 50% of the hours are recorded to the unit. Please check this! Open tatu.oulu.fi and select "projects and basic funding.
