Hi all,
The 16th Kaamos Symposium is approaching! It is held on next week, on 11th and 12th of December 2012. As an exception from earlier, this year the venue is TA105, which can be found from the 1st floor of the Faculty of Economics. Map to the lecture hall is on the wiki-pages, https://wiki.oulu.fi/display/Kaamos
This year's invited speakers are Dr. Mikko Mönkkönen (University of Jyväskylä), Dr. Jaakko Erkinaro (Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute) and Dr. David Angeler (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Uppsala).
Unfortunately, the fourth invited speaker Dr. Marie-Charlotte Nilsson Hegethorn (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Umeå) fell ill suddenly and can't come. However, there will be a compensatory presentation from plant ecology section, Dept. of Biology, Univ. of Oulu, on Wednesday morning.
The Symposium programme and Abstract book have now been added to the wiki-pages, https://wiki.oulu.fi/display/Kaamos/Timetable+and+Abstracts
The symposium ends with an evening party at the Botanical Garden on Wednesday. The party starts at 6pm. It has been a tradition that as many as possible could participate in someway to the preparations of the party. You can bake something or bring e.g. chocolate, crisps, cheese, wine, cookies etc. If you plan to bring something, send email to Nelli (nellimar@mail.student.oulu.fi) so we can keep track on what food we have and what is still lacking. Also, if you plan to come to the party and have food allergy or special diet, please let us know. We hope that many of you will participate so that we can have a great party!
Looking forward next week!
On behalf of the organizing committee, Karoliina Huusko
