Role of cultivated peat soils in climate change mitigation

The lecture will review the current status of peatland cultivation and GHG emissions caused by it in Finland. The potential of different GHG mitigation methods will be discussed. The feasibility and new business opportunities of peatland rewetting and paludiculture will be presented as well.
