CIMO invites applications for Scholar Rescue Fund scholarships for Syrian and Iraqi scholars
Scholar Rescue Fund
The Scholar Rescue Fund (SRF) programme offers scholars threatened or prosecuted in their home country the chance to continue their work in a safe environment.
Who can participate?
In Finland, the research and teaching periods of Syrian and Iraqi scholars in the early stages of their academic career are supported by the programme.
There is a rolling deadline for applications. The programme in Finland is open to all higher education institutions (universities and universities of applied sciences) and all fields of study.
Support to scholars
IIE-SRF and CIMO finance the scholarship periods together. The support available from the programme for a single scholar is approximately USD 50,000 a year.
The duration of supported periods can be 9–12 months. It is also possible to apply for an extension for another year.

Scholar Rescue Fund
Scholar Rescue Fund -ohjelma (SRF) tarjoaa kotimaassaan uhkaa tai vainoa kokeville tutkijoille mahdollisuuden jatkaa työtään turvallisessa ympäristössä.
Kuka voi osallistua?
Suomessa ohjelmasta tuetaan syyrialaisten ja irakilaisten akateemisen uransa alussa olevien tutkijoiden tutkimus- ja opetusjaksoja suomalaisissa korkeakouluissa.
Ohjelmassa on jatkuva hakuaika. Ohjelma on Suomessa avoin kaikille korkeakouluille (yliopistot ja ammattikorkeakoulut) ja opintoaloille.
Tuki tutkijalle
IIE-SRF ja CIMO rahoittavat jaksot yhteisesti. Ohjelman tarjoama tuki yksittäiselle tutkijalle on vuodessa noin 50 000 USD.
Tuetut jaksot voivat olla kestoltaan 9–12 kk. Jaksoon on mahdollista hakea myös jatkoa toiseksi vuodeksi.
