1.      Tulevaisuuden tekijät 2018 -ideahaku & Business Finland –tutkimusrahoitus, tiistaina 20.3.2018 klo 12:00 – 14.30, Tellus Business Kitchen, Linnanmaan kampus

 

Teknologiateollisuuden 100-vuotissäätiö sekä Jane ja Aatos Erkon säätiö ovat avanneet suomalaisille yliopistoille suunnatun Tulevaisuuden tekijät -haun strategisen osaamisen vahvistamiseksi. Vuoden 2018 ohjelmassa rahoitetaan kunnianhimoisia tutkimusavauksia noin 3 miljoonalla eurolla. Haku on kaksivaiheinen. Ideahaku päättyy 15.4.2018 ja varsinainen haku on käynnissä 5.6. – 12.8.2018. Teknologiateollisuuden edustaja Marianne Jokila kertoo tilaisuudessa 2018 hausta ja edellisestä hausta rahoitetun MEC-AI hankkeen edustaja Lauri Lovén kertoo kokemuksista 2017 kierroksesta.

Entinen Tekes on nykyään Business Finland, Hanna Rantala on paikalla kertomassa muutoksista tutkimusrahoituksessa ja vastaamassa kysymyksiin.

Future Makers 2018 call for strategic research ideas & Business Finland research funding, Tuesday 20th Marh at 12:00-14.30, Tellus Business Kitchen, Linnanmaa campus

 

Technology Industries of Finland Centennial Foundation and Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation open a joint funding call for strategic research ideas. In total, the foundations have reserved up to 3 million € for high-level research openings. The foundations wish to encourage joint actions that focus on universities' strategic strengths and spark new growth - with the aim to encourage long-term cooperation between researchers and companies. The funding call has two stages: 1) Call for ideas 1.2.-15.4.2018 and 2) Improving of ideas and final applications 5.6.-12.8.2018. Marianne Jokila from the Technology Industries of Finland will be telling about the call and a researcher funded on the previous round, Lauri Lovén will also share his experiences.

The national funding agency formerly known as Tekes is now Business Finland. Hanna Rantala will tell about the changes in research funding and answers your questions.

2.      IP rights and research –course for PhD students, Tuesday 27th March at 12:15 – 16:00 and Wednesday 28th March at 9.15 – 12:00, lecture hall KTK122 or online participation

 

Would you like to learn basics of intellectual property rights (IP rights)? Copyrights, patents and trademarks are in the news almost daily. IP rights do not have meaning only in business life. Research works produces also IP rights. Come to listen to interesting talks and learn how you can protect and utilize your results more efficiently! Know-how from IP rights is an important part of working life skills. Registration: weboodi (students) or send email to maarit.jokela@oulu.fi at latest 23th March. 3.      Onnistuneen otsikon ja tiivistelmän kirjoittaminen, luento 10.4. klo 12.15-15.45 luokka PK247 & työpajat 8.5. englanniksi ja  14.5. suomeksi

 

Otsikko ja tiivistelmä ovat tärkeässä roolissa rahoitushakemuksessa, sillä niiden perusteella arvioija luo ensimmäisen vaikutelman hakemuksesta. Myös tieteellisen julkaisun otsikko, tiivistelmä ja asiasanat tulee kirjoittaa huolella, jotta julkaisu saa mahdollisimman paljon näkyvyyttä. On kuitenkin hyvä tietää, että rahoitushakemuksen ja tieteellisen julkaisun otsikko ja tiivistelmä tulee kirjoittaa erilaisia asioita huomioiden. Lisätietoa ja ilmoittautuminen Notiossa.

 

Learn to write an attractive title and abstract, lecture 10.4. at 12.15-15.45 class PK247 (Pegasus library) & workshops 8.5. in English and 14.5. in Finnish

 

Title and abstract are in an important role in grant applications and in scientific publications. Evaluators and reviewers get the first impression by reading them. However, it is good to know that title and abstract should be written in a different way to grant applications and scientific publications. More information and registration in Notio.

 

4.      Aineistonhallinta-työpajoja huhtikuussa

           

Tule työstämään aineistonhallintasuunnitelmaasi ja tutustumaan DMPTuuli-työkaluun. Työpajassa saat myös ohjausta kansallisen Etsin-hakupalvelun käyttöön. Voit viedä metatiedot aineistostasi Etsimeen ja liittää tietoaineiston kotiorganisaatioomme eli Oulun yliopistoon. Metatietojen julkaiseminen tukee avoimen tieteen toimintamalleja ja Oulun yliopiston datapolitiikkaa.

Learn also how to add the metadata of your research datasets supplemented with affiliation information University of Oulu in national Etsin research data finder. Publishing the metadata of datasets promotes the requirements of open science and research data policy of University of Oulu.
