/ Future Makers funding program 2021
The funding program focuses on digital technologies and new business models that renew the Finnish technology industry and society in a sustainable way. The
goal is to launch ambitious research projects that combine internationally cutting-edge research with strategic openings aiming at new growth. Characteristics
of high-level research openings funded in the program: multidisciplinary and builds an ecosystem; based on an important challenge faced by the Finnish
technology industry and society; aiming for an international breakthrough, strengthen strategic expertise.

Grants for the fields of science are primarily awarded for research work. Grants can be applied for doctoral thesis work and post-doctoral research. In addition, it
is possible to apply for a homing grant which is research funding for a person returning to Finland after post-doctoral research abroad, intended to the establishment of a research group of one’s own. Research groups can apply for part-funding of their research

Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation

The primary objective of the Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation is to promote top-level research particularly in the fields of medicine, technology and economics as well as high-level art and culture.
The Foundation also supports, at its discretion, other projects that promote wellbeing for the benefit of the Finnish people. Continuous call (average processing time for applications is 4–6 months).

Funding for seeking solutions for the global environmental crisis and, in particular, reducing emissions volumes fast.

Tiedonjulkistamisen neuvottelukunta / Committee for public information
The Ministry of Education and Culture, through the Committee for Public Information in Finland, invites applications for
its public information grants. These support the creative work of individuals or teams with projects geared towards promoting the dissemination of information and knowledge. The remit excludes costs related to fiction writing, educational books, translation

The Trans-Atlantic Platform (T-AP) for Social Sciences and Humanities, an unprecedented collaboration between humanities and social science research funders from South America, North America and Europe, is
pleased to announce its third joint research call, "Recovery, Renewal and Resilience in a Post-Pandemic World".
The Academy of Finland’s Research Council for Culture and Society has earmarked a total of 800,000 euros to fund up to four Finnish research teams.
Call closes: 12 July 2021 (intention to submit form deadline 14 June)

The aim is to fund ambitious transnational RTD projects addressing materials research and innovation including materials for low carbon energy technologies, future batteries technology and related
production technologies. The call includes the following thematic areas: modelling for materials engineering, processing, properties and durability; innovative surfaces, coatings and interfaces;
high performance composites; functional materials; new strategies for advanced material-based technologies for health applications;

Marie Sklodowska Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships

Grants for experienced researchers to support their mobility, research projects and training both within and outside
of Europe. The fellowship is applied in cooperation with the planned host organisation. The scheme covers all research areas. It is targeted at researchers with a doctoral degree and a maximum of 8 years of research experience after the PhD by the time
of the call deadline. Mobility is a must in MSCA: the researcher must not have resided in the country of the beneficiary, in this case Finland, for more than 12 months in the 36 months before call deadline.
