It presents Salomaa’s research on assessing sustainability transformations, as well as her research on the potential of Red Lists and the variety of conservation actions to leverage transformation. Last, it shows ongoing work on developing a framework for categorizing understandings of transformation in the context of biodiversity science-policy interface.

Bio: Anna Salomaa is an interdisciplinary environmental social scientist from the LUT University, Finland. Her main interest is to study how living conditions for humanity could be safeguarded along with the biodiversity we have, and how knowledge on nature could benefit transformative change. She has studied the interface between knowledge and conservation policy, sustainability transformation, and environmental crisis preparedness, often in cooperation with non-academic actors.   https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0509-4873
