Hello everybody,

The fumehoods have had troubles with suction going offline yesterday and today, so if you are working with fumehoods please check that there is suction and the light is green. ISS told it is caused by malfunctioning relay, which is to be replaced in the coming ventilation maintenance. I also heard that the maintenance will also start soon so here’s a recap about it:

The maintenance was supposed to be 1 year ago but it was postponed due to regulatory issues. Back then it was said that the maintenance will last for 4 months during which the ventilation is offline in the are show in the attachment of this email, but fumehoods and other critical ventilation (such as the local exhaust ventilation in B160a and B155) will have a separate arrangement for suction. This will be some sort of shipping container that will be placed on the parking spot for maastotyöntekijät / field workers, so those parking spots will also be unavailable for the time period. I will inform more when I hear the exact dates for this operation.
