Hi you all,

As you all must know by now, there is the new EU law about personal data protection, General Data Protection Regulation, starting the 25.5, so in ten days. For this, our faculty is gathering information on what kinds and how many such personal data indexes we have.

So, if you have any personal data indexes that you keep, you need to inform that to me, I’ll collect and inform the faculty then.

This means now any data including people’s names, phone numbers, addresses, IP-addresses etc. It does not matter how you have indexed these data, it can be e.g. a word- or excel-file, hand-written cards, database or something else.

Thus, let me know the 1) purpose (e.g. contact info of your pro-gradu students), 2) what type of information there is (e.g. name and phone number) and 3) the type of the register (e.g. excel-file) you have and 4) how you have protected the personal data (e.g. placed at your home-directory protected by a password) by the end of this week (Friday the 18th)!

greetings
Laura
