1.University Grants and Scholarships 2019 - Calls for applications
The Scholarship Fund of the University of Oulu opens the call for research grants. The awarded grants are typically between 3000 and 5000 euros. Only researchers who have completed a Master's degree are eligible for researcher grants. Travel
grants are not awarded. The receiver of the grant may not be simultaneously employed by the University of Oulu during the grant period.
Applications are to be submitted by 17. November 2019

ERC Starter Grant call 2021 will most likely be postponed by 5-6 months -> so deadline is not in October 2020 but possibly in March 2021.

ERC Consolidator Grant call 2021 will be postponed -> deadline will not be in February 2021 but perhaps in May / September 2021.

ERC Advanced Grant call deadline is in August 2021.

ERC Synergy call 2021 will be cancelled due to time pressure to organise the call. Furthermore: Consequence for ERC Starter Grants 2021 will not yet be known if Starter Grant 2022 call will have a deadline in October 2021. 4. Strategisen tutkimuksen (STN) v. 2020 teemat päätetty – hakuilmoitus julkaistaan marraskuun lopulla ja aiehaku päättynee tammikuun puolivälissä
Valtioneuvosto
on päättänyt STN-ohjelmien teemat vuodelle 2020. STN-ohjelmien tavoitteena on tuottaa ratkaisuja pitkäjänteisellä tutkimuksella yhteiskunnan kiperiin kysymyksiin sekä tukea tiedolla johtamista ja päätöksentekoa.
Tavoitteiden toteuttamiseksi STN odottaa rahoitettavilta hankkeilta aktiivista ja koko tutkimuksen elinkaaren kattavaa vuorovaikutusta tiedon tuottajien ja hyödyntäjien kesken.
Vuonna 2020 strategiseen tutkimukseen on valtuus myöntää yhteensä 55,6 miljoonaa euroa.
Teemoja vuodelle 2020 on kaksi:

·
Tiedon lukutaito ja tietoon perustuva päätöksenteko
Läpileikkaavana painopisteenä molemmissa teema-alueissa on yhteisöllisyys.

The Government decided the
thematic areas and priorities for strategic research in 2020. The total budget is EUR 55.6 million. The call will be open in November and the deadline for proposals is possibly in mid-January. Strategic research means long-term and problem-oriented research
of high scientific quality that contributes to social policy-making and development of society’s activities and aims at finding solutions to the major challenges and problems facing Finnish society.
The thematic areas for 2020 are:

The Human Perspective and Information Literacy and Evidence Informed Decision-Making
The Government also adopted Inclusive Co-Creation as the cross-cutting priority of the 2020 themes
Suomen Akatemian yhteydessä toimiva strategisen tutkimuksen neuvosto (STN) on avannut kaikille avoimen verkkokyselyn, jolla kerätään ehdotuksia uusiksi strategisen tutkimuksen teemoiksi
vuodelle 2021. STN:n rahoittaman tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on löytää ratkaisuja merkittäviin yhteiskunnallisiin haasteisiin.
Vuoden 2021 teemakysely toteutetaan samalla Viima-kyselyalustalla kuin kahtena edellisenä syksynä. Erona edellisvuosiin on se, että nyt ehdotuksissa keskitytään strategisen tutkimuksen
teemoihin. Tämän toivotaan ohjaavan vastaajia miettimään teemaehdotuksia laajemmalla perspektiivillä, keskittyen merkittäviin yhteiskunnallisiin haasteisiin. Teemakyselyssä ei siis haeta yksittäisiä tutkimusaiheita vaan
kokonaisuuksia, jotka täyttävät hyvän teeman tunnusmerkit.
Kyselyalusta mahdollistaa omien ehdotusten jättämisen lisäksi myös muiden ehdotusten kommentoinnin ja keskustelun. Parhaimmillaan ehdotusten ympärillä käytävän keskustelun toivotaan
johtavan monialaisiin ja -tieteellisiin ehdotuksiin, jotka yhdistävät ennakkoluulottomasti uusia osaamis- ja tutkimusyhdistelmiä sekä vuorovaikutteisuutta.
Kyselyalustalle on kirjattu valmiiksi edellisvuosien teemat, jotka antavat osviittaa sopivien yhteiskunnallisten haasteiden kokoluokasta ja kertovat, millaisia aiheita strategisen tutkimuksen
ohjelmissa jo tutkitaan.
Osallistuminen edellyttää joko omien Viima-tunnusten luomista tai kirjautumista esimerkiksi LinkedIn- tai Google-tunnuksilla.
The Strategic Research Council (SRC) at the Academy of Finland has opened an online survey o all to invite proposals for new strategic research themes for the year
2021. The objective of research funded by the SRC is to find solutions to significant societal challenges.
The theme survey for the year 2021 will be available on the same Viima platform used during the two previous years. However, unlike in the previous surveys, the proposals
for the year 2021 focus on strategic research themes. The Council hopes that this will encourage respondents
to consider the proposals from a broader perspective with a focus on significant societal challenges. In other words, the objective of the survey is not to obtain proposals for individual research topics but
broader proposals that meet the criteria for a good theme.
The respondents can use the survey platform to submit their own proposals and also to comment on other proposals and discuss them. The Council hopes that the discussions
about themes on the platform will give rise to multidisciplinary proposals that lead to new bold combinations of skills, research and interactivity.
Previous themes can be found on the platform to give the respondents an idea of the scale of suitable societal challenges and what is already being researched in strategic
research programmes. Submitting a proposal requires creating a Viima account or signing in with a LinkedIn or Google account.

löytyy.
Tee vaikutus rahoittajaan osoittamalla, että myös patenttien sisältämä tieto on hallussasi hakiessasi tutkimusrahoitusta.
