Note! Everyone who works in the Ecology and Genetics laboratory space and uses the unit’s equipment now or in the future will need to pass the course part 1. Those who pass course part 2 will gain competence to teach on the course in the future.

• Ideal For: Ph.D. students needing comprehensive lab safety training before embarking on research work. Master’s students and post-docs are also welcome if they need foundational lab safety training.

• Plan your laboratory work with safety and best practices in mind.
• Master pipetting using the direct technique.
• Document your work by understanding what a good laboratory notebook should contain.
