Dear colleagues,

program of the Biology Thursday seminar of the Ecology and Genetics unit is shaping up nicely for the spring:
https://thursdayseminarbiology.wordpress.com/

For the time being we will continue on zoom, but hopefully soon we can have the local speakers give their talks on site and in person. The zoom links and calendar invites will be posted with the advertisements for each talk.

As you see, there are still empty slots, so if you have suggestions or volunteers for speakers, please let me or co-organiser Noémie Pichon (Noemie.Pichon@oulu.fi) know! All ideas much appreciated!

Note that students can get credits from the seminars (2credit points, code 750318A or 750618S) by attending and writing short summaries of 10 presentations (half a page to one page per seminar is enough). The seminars don’t need to be from a single semester, but can be gathered over a longer time period as well. There is no need to register, just send your summaries when you’re ready (as one doc or pdf) to heikki.helantera@oulu.fi

See you soon in the seminars – next week we’ll kick off with a freshly arrived post doc to Oulu, Dr. Matthew Nielsen on “The evolution of plasticity during anthropogenic change: Cue-environment mismatches in Lepidoptera”!

Best wishes,

Heikki
