Tänään yksikköpalaverissa esillä puhutaan mm. ensi vuoden taloudesta. Liitteenä olevassa ensimmäisessä taulukossa ovat tiedekunnan eri tutkimusyksiköiden ensi vuoden budjetin tutkimusmittarit ja vuosien 2014-2016 keskiarvot. Ennakkotietojen mukaan tiedekunnan ensi vuoden rahoitus (tuloksella ansaittava perusrahoitus, alakohtainen ja kallisalainfrarahoitus) laskee -480 853 euroa tähän vuoteen verrattuna. Suurin osa (noin - 411 000 euroa) tästä selittyy sillä, että tulosmittarein ansaittava perusrahoitus laskee.  Liitteenä on toinen taulukko, josta käy ilmi, miten tiedekuntamme tulos on kehittynyt mittareittain eriteltynä suhteessa toisiin tiedekuntiin.

Today in our research unit meeting we will talk on our economic situation on the following year. The first attached spreadsheet shows the  results in different subsections  of the different research units in the faculty  in the past years and the averages for years 2014-2016 . It seems that the budget of the faculty will be 480 853 euros lower compared to this year. Attached is another spreadsheet which shows  the  budget of our faculty compared to other faculties in this and next year.

Annamari will tell something on university election.

We will also discuss on the following Phills suggestion:

“Following yesterday’s meeting about grant preparation, it is clear that we should offer some clear opportunities to help people prepare grants.  The idea would be to have one session where people present their general ideas and the group then provides feedback (about methods, hypotheses, potential collaborations, etc.).  After some time, we should have some second ‘opportunity’ where people READ and COMMENT on the drafts (near final. but not so final that you won’t change the application) grant applications. 

1 – aims to improves science and questions, novelty and impact: TYPE - group meeting

2 – remove ‘silly’ mistakes, misunderstandings, associated with presentation and style etc.: TYPE - more personal chats

The key questions are (1) is there motivation to do this (or are people happy in their own groups)? and (2), if so, WHEN should we arrange these meetings?  We need sufficient time between meetings to prepare and revise a grant application.”
