Water4All 2024 -Joint
Transnational Call: Water for Circular Economy

The call will support research to improve global water security in the long term.
The call has two stages (preproposals and full proposals). Each consortium must be composed of at least three eligible partners that request funding from participating
organisations from three different countries participating in the call.

Research Council
of Finland - Winter call 2025,

The Research Council of Finland’s (RCF) winter call is set to open in early November (expected call dates 13.11.2024-8.1.2025), and the preparations for
it should start as soon as possible. This year, the RCF has four different possibilities for applicants to choose from. However, each applicant can only submit a single application as the Principal Investigator (PI), and therefore it is important to choose
the right one!
-The Academy Project is open to all fields of science and can be applied
by individual research teams or by a consortium. The PI must have a doctorate and other significant merits (e.g. professor, docent, adjunct professor). Projects last for four years and funding is provided for research team salaries and other research costs
including travel and international mobility.
-The Academy Research Fellowship is aimed at talented early-career researchers
whose doctoral certificate is awarded between 1 Jan 2018 – 31 Jan 2023. The purpose is to increase the fellow’s competencies and make significant career progress towards more demanding research position producing high-quality and high-impact research. The
Fellowship lasts 4 years and funding is provided for the fellow’s own salary, research team salaries and other research costs.
-The Academy Programme for Sport Science and Physical Activity aims to
advance the quality, renewal and impact of research on physical activity and sports. This three-year project provides funding for research team salaries and other direct research costs.
-The Academy Professor funding is opened again after some years and applications
are for six years with funding for the professor’s own salary, research team salaries and other research costs.

Finnish Government has decided the themes of strategic research programmes to be launched in 2025
(The call text will be published in early November. The first call stage will be open until mid-January 2025)

The cross-cutting priority for the upcoming research programmes is artificial intelligence.
The SRC is tasked with providing funding for long-term excellent research that is aimed at finding solutions to the major challenges facing Finnish society. In addition, strategic

EIC – EUROPEAN INNOVATION COUNCIL
EIC Pathfinder Open, DL spring 2025
European Innovation Council (EIC) is Europe’s flagship innovation programme to identify, develop and scale up breakthrough technologies and game changing innovations.
EIC Pathfinder Open
supports the exploration of bold ideas for radically new technologies. It welcomes the high-risk/high gain and interdisciplinary cutting-edge science collaborations that underpin technological breakthroughs. Grants
of up to EUR 3 million.
Research and Project Services offer enhanced support for researchers who plan to apply for EIC Pathfinder Open 2025 call. The
EIC Work Programme 2025 has not been published yet, but EIC Pathfinder Open 2025
call opens at the beginning of 2025 with a deadline in the spring of 2025. The support consists of training, support in proposal writing (call analysis, impact and implementation, open science, DMP, gender), budgeting and subject to available funds graphic
design and external consultant service.
All researchers planning to submit a proposal for the EIC Pathfinder 2025 call can
express their interest to be included in the support process by answering a short
