Dear researchers, students, and biology enthusiasts!

We would like to introduce you to our newly developed biology-themed board game “Life in boreal forests: The Lone Wolf”! The game communicates the importance of wild animals and biological diversity to people, especially to younger generations. We developed this game based on scientific facts, so that children could learn about nature while playing. We have chosen a grey wolf (Canis lupus) as the main character for this game, because it has a high value for biodiversity and healthy ecosystem functioning. However, as top predators, wolves also face a very controversial attitude from people throughout the world. The game introduces the conflicts that may arise from wolf presence and the troubles the wolves have to endure.

We are inviting you to join the prototype testing of the game. With your feedback we could improve the game for a better and clearer communication of science to younger generations. We especially encourage players with children to join the testing but anyone interested is welcome!

Keep in mind that the prototype game is in English. After testing, the game will be translated to Finnish.

Attached you can find a leaflet with information about borrowing the game and a QR code for booking. In the booking form you will also find links to the feedback form and questionnaires. We kindly ask you to fill in the feedback form. Although the questionnaires are optional and are designed for kids of school age, your answers will help us to improve them for the later stages of our project.

Looking forward to your reservations and feedback!

Kind regards,

Dominika and Ekaterina
