ERC Trainings and Events in Spring 2026

Research Support Services will organise several training sessions and events in the spring to support researchers who are applying for the European Research Council (ERC) grants. As ERC application templates have changed starting from the ERC Work Programme 2026, we recommend that researchers planning ERC applications - especially first-time applicants - participate in these events. ERC Accelerator Programme 2026 (registerhttps://link.webropol.com/s/ercaccelerator) The purpose of the Accelerator is to inspire and support early-career researchers and those applying to ERC for the first time in developing ambitious research concepts with scientific impact suitable for ERC funding calls. In 2026, the ERC Accelerator sessions will be held on Teams according to the following schedule:

ERC Online Training (registerhttps://link.webropol.com/s/erctraining2026) The ERC consultancy company Yellow Research will provide a two-part online training for the University of Oulu on 13-14 April 2026 (9:30-12:00), covering how to create a strong ERC grant application. A recording of the sessions will also be available afterwards, but during the training participants will have the opportunity to ask questions.
Successful ERC Applications Reading Day (registration opens later) The University of Oulu, in collaboration with the Research Council of Finland, will again organise a successful ERC applications reading day on Wednesday, 27 May 2026. The event offers an opportunity to read previously funded ERC Starting, Consolidator, and Advanced Grant applications. The reading day is held on the Linnanmaa campus.

Tutkimuksen tukipalvelut järjestää keväällä useita European Research Councilin (ERC) rahoitushakuja tukevia koulutuksia ja tilaisuuksia. Koska ERC-hakemuslomakkeet ovat ERC työohjelmasta 2026 lähtien muuttuneet, suosittelemme ERC-hakemuksia suunnittelevia tutkijoita ja erityisesti ensikertalaisia osallistumaan näihin tapahtumiin. ERC-kiihdyttämö (ilmoittauduhttps://link.webropol.com/s/ercaccelerator) Kiihdyttämön tarkoituksena on innostaa ja tukea uransa alkuvaiheessa olevia ja ensimmäistä kertaa ERC:tä hakevia tutkijoita kehittämään kunnianhimoisia ja tieteellistä vaikuttavuutta sisältäviä tutkimuskonsepteja, jotka soveltuvat ERC-rahoitushakuihin. Vuonna 2026 ERC-kiihdyttämön tapaamisen pidetään Teamsissä ja aikataulu on seuraava:

ERC online koulutus (ilmoittauduhttps://link.webropol.com/s/erctraining2026) ERC-konsulttiyritys Yellow Research pitää Oulun yliopistolle 13.-14.4.2026 (klo 9:30-12:00) kaksisosaisen verkkokoulutuksen, jossa käydään läpi miten luodaan hyvä ERC-apurahahakemus. Koulutuksesta tehdään myös tallenne mutta koulutuksen aikana osallistujilla on mahdollisuus esittää kysymyksiä. Onnistuneiden ERC-hakemusten lukutilaisuus (ilmoittautuminen aukeaa myöhemmin) Oulun yliopisto järjestää jälleen yhteistyössä Suomen Akatemian kanssa rahoituksen saaneiden ERC-hakemusten lukutilaisuuden keskiviikkona 27.5.2026. Tilaisuudessa on mahdollisuus lukea aiemmin hyväksyttyjä Suomeen rahoituksen saaneita ERC Starting, Consolidator ja Advanced Grant -hakemuksia. Tilaisuus pidetään Linnanmaan kampuksella.
