Sanginjoki Forest, a 2600 hectare-wide area about 20 km from Oulu City center, was recently protected after a 17-year-long campaign by local nature organizations.
Loppulan ystävät/Friends of Loppula also bought the old forest ranger house of Sanginjoki to renovate it for the Nature Center of the Sanginjoki Forest. We got funding from Kone Foundation for buying and renovation of the house, but due to elevation of construction costs, we are now running out of money. Therefore, we've started a money collection, licence number RA/2023/333, during 22.3.2023 - 21.6.2023. Our aim is to collect 10 000 €, which will be used primarily for building of an accessible entrance and a new terrace for the house. We are grateful for all donations!
We aim to open renovated Loppula Nature Center with a cafe on the Day of Finnish Nature, Aug 26, 2023. You are all welcome there then - and already before that, please visit Sanginjoki Forest area! At the moment there will be e.g. owls like Ural owl and Tengmalm's owl as well as Siberian jay - and soon also Ficedula parva and Tarsiger cyanurus might be found there.

OSALLISTU PIENKERÄYKSEEN LOPPULAN KUNNOSTAMISEKSI!
Osallistu Oulun Sanginjoella sijaitsevan Loppulan metsänvartijan talon kunnostamiseen aluetta palvelevaksi luontokeskukseksi lahjoittamalla Loppulan ystävät ry:n pienkeräykseen. Keräys (lupanumero RA/2023/333) järjestetään 22.3.2023 - 21.6.2023 ja tavoitteena on kerätä 10 000 €, joka käytetään ensisijaisesti talon uuden terassin ja esteettömän sisäänkäynnin rakentamiseen tai toissijaisesti rakennuksen viemäröintiin.
