The next Journal Club session will explore casts, fights, morphology and the social evolution among ants! It is led by Heikki Helanterä and his social evolution research group. We will meet on Friday 15th 10:15-12:00 in AT115A.
Three papers to discuss for this session, to be read in order. Paper 1https://academic.oup.com/jeb/article/12/2/245/7322852 is a review making powerful predictions some decades ago. Paper 2https://www.nature.com/articles/s41559-024-02512-7 and Paper 3https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2022.12.08.519655v2 are examples of the power of comparative analyses that test those ideas a quarter of a century later!
