Good to know about this! TNT was at least able to track the parcel, but still, its service is not trustworthy.

It seems that both Marko and I need advice on good courier services that have successfully delivered parcels in the past month.

Two weeks ago, I shipped a parcel containing valuable tissue samples of type specimens to Sweden (Lund) using EMS that has always been a safe service. But not this time. The parcel is lost. I have contacted Posti who initiated a search, but I have not heard anything about the parcel since. It is with PostNord and, indeed, it seems nobody knows where the parcel is located presently.

I am about to send samples to Sweden in dry ice. Your experience of TNT is good to hear. we will consider other options.

We have had terrible experiences trying to send a parcel containing DNA samples in dry ice to Sweden using TNT. In our first sending attempt, the parcel went missing, was finally found in Turku, and returned to Oulu for dry ice filling. In the second sending attempt the parcel went missing again, was again found in Turku, was promised to be sent to Sweden immediately, but is now in Paris.

I contacted the university's premises and security services asking are we allowed to use any other courier service, since only TNT is mentioned on their pages regarding mailing. They replied that we are free to use any courier service we wish.

So, to save your nerves from breaking, I warmly recommend choosing some other courier than TNT for sending your parcels!
